The service was spot on. Prompt, helpful and friendly. The food, not so much. Maybe it was what we ordered (are omelets supposed to be brown?). Seriously, that is the way they are cooked here, and I shouldn’t have expected any different. Our other dish, fish, came baked in some sort of casserole reminiscent of a mac & cheese dish,... More

We were passing by and tough to give it a try. And it really is the best chivito ever! Nice environment, nice staff, cold beer and the tastiest chivito. Do not miss San Rafael Bar

Nice small restaurant with a variety of food to choose from. Had a fillet steak with chips, sadly the steak was burned and the waiter did not speak a word of english. So i had to eat it. Good quality of meat, spoiled by the burn taste.....! Dulce de leche cake with meringue topping. Now this was absolute perfection. The... More

People who have been spoiled by Italian espresso will agree with me that Uruguay does not have good coffee. (Their café común--normal coffee--is terrific but usually unavailable in restaurants and bars.) San Rafael is the exception. Once I discovered it, even when I didn't eat there I returned after the meal for coffee. So, if you are disappointed with your... More

Great and simple food, the cost is accesible and they make a great Chivito! Good place to go if you're looking for a quick bite to eat and good waiters, would definitely go again!

I went here on my first night in Montevideo because it was one of the only restaurants that was open on a Sunday night. I had the pepper entrecôte and it was delicious (the sauce was amazing) and I had the flan with dulce de leche for dessert, which was, again, amazing. My waiter was really nice. Overall, a great... i went 3 times during my trip, and had a great experience every time. I had a frittata (listed as "tortilla" on the menu), paella, and chicken stroganoff. All were delicious. They brought me a fresh cut chimichurri sauce for the frittata, and it was incredible. The service was a little slow, but that is typical for the country. It... More

As all the restaurants I've tried in montevideo, this one was the least bad concerning the food. Waiters were amazing by the way. Price high as any restaurant in this town.

This place may look like your average eatery in Montevideo but the food is definitely above average. Great "entrecot", delicious chivito's, and decent pizza's can be eaten accompanied by nice local wines. All members of the staff seem to take pride in their job and make you feel at home, tourists and locals (who outnumber the tourists by large) alike.

In our last day in Montevideo, very tired and not willing to risk with an unknown restaurant we checked Trip Advisor and found this place just 5 min walking from our hotel. Some may not consider it a proper restaurant, it's more like an informal bar serving drinks and food. The service was average-bad (the guy in the till was... More
