Lovely setting with rolling lawn to the beach. Enjoyed the steak and sashimi and also the desserts (sticky pudding, brûlée and passionfruit tart). But seafood pasta was overcooked and french fries were frozen chips cooked badly. For my money, the restuarant OTB (see other review) was much better for fine dining. Tip: If you do go, take plenty of mosquito... More

After 3 weeks in Raro our final meal out was at Tamarind House.it was their first night open after their christmas break. Everything was excellent. The drinks were cold the seafood prepared to perfection and great service. The location and grounds also made for a perfect balmy eveming of culinary delights.

Nice location, close to town and lovely view. The tables were arranged strangely as the people behind us were awesomely set up as a diamond with a great view but we were set up as a square facing a beam and the fold out doors trying to fight for the view. A bit annoying but it happens. Grand building but... More

Went here on our first night as it was the the closest place we could walk to from our hotel. It was a real blessing in the end as the quality of food was excellent. Service good and it was a waterfront location. Not cheap but worth what we paid for the great food we received. Probably pick of the... More

The location is gorgeous, down a longish driveway and right by the beach. The views are uninterrupted and dreamy. The villa itself is old with the history of the people who once lived there. We sat out on the deck which steps down onto the lawn. It can open up or be closed up from the weather. Quite a lovely... More

If visiting Raratonga, Tamarind House is a must visit for lunch or dinner. Overlooking the Pacific (facing east) the restaurant is a restored colonial house. Reservations are highly recommended, especially if you want a table near the windows. By Raratonga standards, the food is very good and reasonably priced. I had a rib eye steak which was perfectly cooked. It... More
