The setting was extremely pleasant but otherwise resembled every other fine dining outlet. The food, however, was excellent and one of the best we had in Croatia. The food was not rushed and paced very appropriately, with enough time for good conversation in between. We had the Istrian Cabernet Sauvignon which was full-bodied yet very smooth. Together we had the... More

Had a big plate to share on 3 with lamb and potatoes. We also had som great cheese and prosciotto as a starter. Staff was great and recommended fantastic wine to go with the lamb.

Food is okay, but nothing special. Service friendly. Always full, as the position in the city centre is top. Try on Fridays the fish, it is fresh and good.

Vinodol Restaurant is the place where I usually send all my colleagues and guests to get some typical Croatian food prepared in a decent manner. It is a good restaurant, you can eat all kinds of Croatian food, from meat to fish, even some pasta dishes. The prices are reasonable (not on the cheap side, but very correct). The staff... More

The restaurant is nice and roomy but the food is honestly one of the worst in the city center. not boiled pasta sauce. in any case, did not meet expectations.

zagreb seems to have an over abundance of street cafés and informal restaurants but when you are actually looking for something to eat you are struck by their sameness. There is plenty of fast food; Pizzerias are everywhere and grills and fry-ups. Amidst all this is this wonderful restaurant. Its spacious rooms sprawl through vaulted halls; tables are well spaced... This is always the place I come for one dish only.... Lamb made old style, slow rolling on a spit for hours. They sometimes make it difficult because of the advanced dish order (but it can be done with a reservation) and many time on busy nights it should not be a problem. Service is great, old European school with... More

Sign for the restaurant is visible from the street, but it's tucked down the alley past a few cafe tables. Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. A bit pricey in comparison to some restaurants ($12-22 per entree), but well worth it. The restaurant also has a really nice semi-private room (glass walls but separate from the main dining... More

We ate here on a Saturday evening in April having arrived in Croatia that same day. With no idea where to eat we wandered around an area of the lower town which had lots of restaurants Working on the theory that the more people who were eating there, the better it must be, we chose to eat at Vinodel. Vinodel... More
