This place was sooooo good! It was empty when we were there but couldn't understand why. The spit duck was unreal. Helpings massive and so cheap. Trust me, go there.

So many times I have passed by this restaurant on my way to work or from work and never ventured inside. This time I finally went in for lunch. The decor is outfashioned but the food is very good and the service quick. The menu is quite extensive, including many of Croatian traditional dishes like stuffed peppers, sarma or strukli.... More

My wife and I ate our evening meal here, and thoroughly enjoyed it!! I ordered the Country Lunch; my wife a Wiener schnitzel. We thought it was great! The native Croatian Reistling was also great!

Purger is a cosy restaurant in downtown Zagreb, where you can have nice traditional Croatian food. Portions are quite big and prices are reasonable. Food is tasty. Staff is very friendly and nice. The main course comes in metal pots, so even though for some it might be unpleasant, we went here to experience exactly this. They serve honey and... More

I selected this place because as we walked by each time ( it was located near our apartment) it looked really inviting. We have been there twice on this trip and each time the beautifully cooked Croatian food has been a treat. A long standing family business and they really know about quality service! Prices are cheap given the volume... More

Extensive menu. We had a mixed grill plate, duck thigh and cevapi (see photos). Food was decent but not exceptional. Service was fine. More expensive then Vallis Aurea (which we prefer). Cevapi was not as good as those of the Bosnian restaurant Old Bridge Cafe in Salt Lake City. Go Ibro!

very plain decor, very friendly staff, quality of food mixed - as a group of 6 with different choices, the opinions varied from good to average and poor!

This restaurant has an extensive menu with just about everything Croatian and Italian. The wine was a good buy.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, and we were not disappointed. Every member of our party was able to find something they were able to enjoy, and that simply never happens. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed it so much we visited Purger again the following day. It's traditional Croatian food with a slight twist by... More

If you like straightforward local food served by attentive staff not trying to 'up-sell' or have 'a shared dining experience' this is a restaurant for you. Do not be discouraged by the slightly dour and dated interior appearance - this establishment offers a dining experience that seems to be sadly dying out. Good food (although probably not low calorie!) reasonably... More
