Ate at Holesterol a few times, loved everything: sausages, smoked pork, other serbian delicacies... Outdoor seating in the summer is a huge plus!
Really a pearl if it comes to Serbian homey food!! Super friendly staff, helpful and happy to translate the menu. Food is amazing and such a great atmosphere. Feels like home and granny is cooking..
We've been to Holesterol yesterday and: the staff was very friendly, local was good, main course (pohovany kackavalj and sopska salata) were ok but the dessert was heavy and not so tasty ;)
Located at the very hip heart of Belgrade, with so witty and to the point marketing approach to food this place represents Serbia and Belgrade to the finest details. Witty, funny and friendly service, food of the best quality and great ambient. If you are...a meat lover you will love it. If you are not you’ll become one. P.S. must visit restaurant if you wanna say you ate localMore
Good food, very tasty, well prepared. There is "healthy" and "unhealthy" side of menu both with a great choice of dishes. Not expensive. Informal atmosphere. Modern set up of the restaurant with "unfinished" look which may not be appealing to some.
I was a bit apprehensive about this place but decided to give it a shot accompanied by two friends. The interior is nice (pay attention to the funny “paintings”) but we took a table outside, in bašta. Our waiter was extremly skillful in assesing our...hunger level, what we would enjoy and how much of it. Try quince brandy for it is not so strong as plum brandy (šljivovica) and not too sweet but has an unique and perfectly balanced taste. We had a cold plate for starters - duvan čvarci are a local thing you must try, homemade ajvar (paprika only, creamy to die for), urnebes spread, cold cuts, cheese, etc. As recommended, we ordered veal under the bell (peka or saće) with potatoes. The meat was really juicy and tender, maybe the best peka I ever had. For dessert we had krempita which was too big for one person but I can’t say we weren’t warned. Wine of the house (chardonnay) was not too bad and it’s really cheap. Prices are very moderate. Would definitely come back again. Probably tomorrow. :)More
Food was delicious and portions are huge. Service was great and very friendly. In very interesting surroundings.
With great weather, we could sit outside on a roofed terrace. Friendly and honest service (We were warned not to overorder on the appetizers!). Pity it lacks an English menu! The name is a good indication of things to come.
the food was fairly good nothing special at all. but the wine I ordered by the glas was not drinkable. I left it nearly untouched and still had to pay for it.
