I like this sort of place. Fast and inexpensive. In and out, wonderful when you are busy. You can choose good food or you can make mistakes. If you don't try to get fancy, it will be good. Stick with the comfort stuff and what the locals are getting. Fresh and fast. Good. Try it and the baked goods.

This was suggested by our local cab driver and proved to be exactly what he said. It was very busy, although we didn't wait long, and loud. It was filled with lots of local people, some business types, students and a couple of tourists. It's a cafeteria style with lots of selections and generous portions. Despite the crowd and noise... The food is decent enough for a casual and convenient lunch on the go, but don't expect fast service. I had the ham and cheese (with ketchup??) and fries for $6. It was good enough that I went back a week later--perhaps out of morbid curiosity--and the prices are economical, but it's certainly less in the category of "must try"... More

If you go to Niko´s after midnight, you will find some party people having a popular sandwich (club sandwich, gyro´s, ham and cheese) with a combo (fries, fried plantain and a beverage) or a sancocho (chicken broth) to refill energies or to get ready to go home. During the day, it is a very popular restaurant with prices very accesible... More

I was in Panama City for a long layover. My Panamanian private tour guide asked me what I wanted for lunch and I said local food. He took me here because it was cheap and quick. We were the only ones in line but it still took a while. The food looked great. It's cafeteria style. You just tell the... More

Went to Nikos this morning for breakfast. Another place people raved about. Don't get it. It's a cafeteria style place. They had no bacon, no hash browns, they had good scrambled eggs. I ordered a piece of meat that looked like BBQ ham, which was closer to BBQ leather and a fried tortilla and a ginger ale. $7.25. I just... More

Try the Sancocho soup. The servings are plentiful. You grab a tray and tell the pain what to want - cafeteria style.

It's a combo of cafeteria, fast food, coffee and pastry shop. Inexpensive, lots of variety, tasty. No cup lids = Check out the machine that puts a cover on your drink (cashier).

***We went to the one on Calle 50 infront of the Delta gas station*** Everything was closed so we decided to try this place...so glad we did! There was so much to choose from traditional breakfast to lunch (as I am American and we eat different foods at different times) dishes. The variety was awesome, staff were friendly and we... More
