Had breakfast here posted up at the bar which is a great spot to see the town roll by going about their business. We both got the breakfast sets with fried eggs, beans, cheese, and sausage/bacon, with coffee and an orange juice. Good offer for Q50-55. Loved the good strong coffee and cold refreshing orange juice! Perfect start to the... More

Portal is a comfortable cafe right on the plaza. A bar with stools sits at the entrance. Nice place to settle into, enjoy a coffee and watch the traffic through the plaza. My wife and I have enjoyed the cappuccino. Probably the best that we have had so far in Antigua. We have tried to venture to as many coffee... More

I am usually in Antigua a couple of times a year, and I love starting the day there with breakfast at the coffee bar. You can eat there alone or with a couple other people and enjoy the people watching of the sidewalk and the square just outside. The basic breakfast is reasonable and delicious; I especially love the fried... More

They close earlier than I would l like, and the food isn't special, but the coffee's decent and the location and layout are wonderful for watching the goings-on in the Parque Central. You'll definitely run into world travelers here, if you sit long enough.

It has an excellent location, they do know how to prepare coffee, you could say that few people can prepare a cup of coffee that is a 10, they might serve 9's but it is 9 always, very stable the quality of what you get, and 9 of of 10 is far from being bad. Prices are a little bit... More

Acceptable, but would not rave, there are better places to go but it was our first night in a new city so we tried it. Service was ok but expensive for the quality of food.

When in Antigua, this is where I start my day! There is nothing better than grabbing a cup of coffee at El Portal and then heading across the street to sit in the Parque Central. Great coffee can be found all over Antigua. I like El Portal because 1) location close to the park, 2) friendly staff, 3) excellent Guatemalan... More
