There are two Silk Road Cafes. One is in the main part of town near the Ock Pop Tok shop. I had cappuccino ere every morning and often breakfast, too. They have a wonderful menu with delicious choices including chicken stuffed lemon grass -- one of the most delicious Lao foods. Their fresh spring rolls are also fabulous. Their other... More

Jan 27 This resto is a convenient stop for lunch before continuing on to the Kuang Si Waterfall. Just as our Hotel Mekong Riverview is about the furthest eastern point on the Luang Prabang peninsula, this resto is located on the western side away from the tourist zone. Before we ate lunch we visited a large local open market, Phousi... More

Msg them on FB last minute for a table for lunch and got a reply almost immediately. Can't think of a better way to spend VD sitting on the terrace by the river in this peaceful locale. Only a quick 15 min walk form the Luang Say Residence where we were staying. Good change from the in-town scene. Ordered the... More

We went for their Thursday night moonlight cinema, which was great fun! You pay 70.000 for free tuk-tuk to and from their craft center, dinner and dessert. Drinks not included. It was such a nice evening and a great evening-activity. If you are in Luang Prabang on a thursday, go by their store in town and check out what movies... More

We're staying here for a workshop & had their breakfast & dinner. Both meals were amazing. The noodle soup was so good. The fish dish was * very * tasty. I can't wait to eat there again. Oh, the view is stunning at sunset.

I ordered fish laap and fried vegetarian rolls and banana Shake. The food is freshly prepared- vegetables in the salad are fresh and crisp and generous serving of fresh fish flakes (careful, a few bones!), and the fried vegetarian rolls is yummy although admittedly a bit on the salty side (the pineapple sauce dip should balance it out). Great view... More

We popped in for a quick cold drink mid afternoon and ended up spending a couple of hours just relaxing at Silk Road. It's a great spot to hide from the hot sun, with yummy selection of juices and small plates. Waiters were helpful and service was prompt. The iced chocolates were delicious!

After doing the weaving tour we were so entranced by the environment that we decided to linger longer by staying for lunch. The soups were very tasty. The chicken satay a little too spicy for the kids but very tasty. The waiters did rather struggle with English but we managed to comprehend each other. Really nice place to spend some... More
