We made an reservation and get a very good table directly on the river. The food was very good and the prices very moderate. The location is just on the entrance of the old souk.

First of all I love the place it is in the middle of old Dubai and kind of vintage, you can reach by boat for 1 Dh from the other side of the creek. I love eating and sitting there to enjoy the water view full of pigeons and boats with people crossing the creek. Not expensive for a Dubai... More

I read about that place on my lonely planet tourist guidebook. I thought it was a kind of tourist trap, but anyway we decided to try it for the lunch while spending the day visiting the Creek and Bur Dubai. We found a nice restaurant with an amazing view, serving lovely and good libanese food for cheap prices. Very recommended!... More

Had a very nice meal with family by the river in the evening. A calm peaceful atmosphere with friendly staff and service. Excellent seafood choice. We had the fish basket with mix of local fish, sweetest crabs and prawns and squid.

It's a good Arab food restaurant. The food is not so good but the place has a great view of the canal with old Dubai as background. The service is very nice as well. The visit is valid but it isn't a great Arabic food restaurant.

Perfect spot on the river bank just off the old souk. Looked clean and well set out. We had the mixed appetisers - vine leaf wrap, haloumi, stuffed spinach and various other veggie options with a few selected hot starters like balls stuffed with minced lamb and coated chicken washed down with cold bottled water and sprite. All very nice... More

A perfect stop after hitting the old souq in Dubai. Great covered terrace with a view of the lively harbour and overlooking the creek. Nice (arabic) and fresh food as well and fine staff. Worth the stop.

This place gets a 5 simply because of the location. The food was closer to a 4, but the venue was breathtaking. We asked for and were given a table on the water and watched the abras go by during the meal. We had the fried rice, chicken marsala, kebob’s and another dish I cannot recall. Everyone was pleased with... More

Bayt Al Wakeel is situated with a perfect harbour view. Especially at night the view is stunning. This view, together with very good food makes a visit to a very special experience, and because of the very moderate prices for your bankaccount too.

Very popular local restaurant as there was a waiting line shortly after we sat down. We ordered several Lebanese dishes together with our sister-in-law and guide. Most dishes were excellent ,especially the salad. Lamb dish was very good, falafel was fried excellently but a bit bland. View right on the Creek was gorgeous. Recommended for lunch.

Thank Robert L

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
