The terrace is very nice, it has views of the canal and historical Dubai.. The food is delicious and at a very reasonable price. Not enough staff for the amount of clients though so service was a bit bad but I would still recommend eating here. Wifi is also available. They don't serve alcohol.

Really enjoyed sitting on the river and watching the boats cruise up and down during dinner. Food was good and not as expensive as we thought it would be, overall a nice place to grab a bite after wandering the souks

Delicious, fresh but simple, tasty food with wonderful view of the creek and its activities of dhows and abras. Good service and very pleasant staff. A must visit to see the old town.

Had family visiting Dubai and was touring old Dubai. Stopped as usual at Bayt Al Wakeel for a light lunch. Got a great table at the terrace overlooking the busy creek with abras and dhows cruising by. Ordered a mezze platter and some other starters like haloumi, houmus and falaffel and some fresh juices. Food is pretty average here but... More

When it comes to Dubai, the modern city has much to offer: The Burj Kalifa, swish restaurants and the best hotels and much more. However, on our many visits to Dubai, my wife and I are equally attracted by the old historical part of the city, especially the Creek, with its bustling small retail outlets and markets, simpler cafes and... Would try out this restaurant with my partner..the ambience is great on this weather...the food is ok, but the service is very disappointed..there are many western guests and most of the servers are filipina...there's one lady with a very long hair, she's really annoyed..she's selecting the guest whom to be looked after which is to the western guest only..she might... Even if you think that the best of Dubai is its sunset skyscrapers glittering, or the glamour of the multicultural terrace parties, you can't deny that the real heart of the city is still beating along the Creek and the narrow streets of its poor surrounding areas. Here it's quite easy to find restaurants. But not being this a place... More

This is down the old end of town near the Dubai museum. Down an old souq, souq al kabeer and the food is nice and reasonably priced. We had spicy pickles and olives, cheese sambusaks, meat sambusaks, cheese spring rolls and hummus as starters and I had a special mixed grill as a main. ‎The service was prompt and the... More

Dined with friends at a table right above the creek - making for a lovely ambience. The menu was varied, with a wide range of dishes. The staff were very friendly and efficient so to add the positives together - it makes for a memorable dining location.

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
