I loved everything about this restaurant
We went to lunch with business colleagues after a busy morning and we were hungry. They attended to us super quickly and in a very friendly way. The appetizers came quickly, I loved the breaded mozzarella with sauce. In the background I ate a delicious pasta. Recommended in Santacruz Bolivia this Italian restaurant that has a lot of tradition.

We have been visiting the Michelangelo Restaurant for at least 30 years as a family favourite when it was previously based in a beautiful traditional building in the Calle Chuquisaca. It has relocated to a more modern venue with healthy outdoor seating option. It still has some of the original waiting staff who are very corteous. However regretably the quality of the old restaurant has been left behind probably with much of the kitchen itself, to adapt to the new venue. My favourite dish was surubi rebozado al ajo, which is a lightly battered fish dish with garlic cooked in a white wine. This was always freshly cooked with a perfect texture on the fish and a light and delicious staff. Waiting staff explained this option is no longer available because of the need to meet customer demand. Instead I was offered Surubi alla Michelangelo, which was either completely overcooked or more likely warmed up from frozen, with an insipid excessively sweet sauce, with all the quality of the orginal dish gone. The only saving feature was the lightly boiled and well prepared fresh vegetables which are a rarity in Santa Cruz these days. The pasta (fetuccin alfredo) was unevenly cooked perhaps in a hury and missing the quality of the Calle Chuquisaca restaurant. Meat dishes where the meat can be kept in the refrigerator and prepared more freshly are quite good and are a better option. The bistecca al pepe which my wife had was good. We were kindly invited to a very tasty mozarrella starter by the head waiter as a courteous, which was very nice gesture.

Still at the restaurant and it’s been already more than 40 minutes as we are waiting for the dishes. The restaurant is empty and no idea why it takes so long.
The prices are higher than in other top rated restaurants that I went to. Didn’t have burrata and the wine I asked for.

Came to visit friends in Santa Cruz and brought some colleagues here. The atmosphere is unique. It is in a typical adobe house and the family owned restaurant has maintained certain features. We loved sitting out in the patio next to the well. Great Italian food and you can ask for half portions and they have good vegan options. Ask about the Cava the private dining room in the alcove - great for a meeting or a personal occasion. Also the service is professional but very personal. Compared to other local restaurants its exception and muy Delicioso!

I visited Santa Cruz for a conference and had a chance to visit this restaurant with a client and colleague for lunch. From the outside the venue doesn’t look particularly inviting and it is out of the way. We were recommended to go here by a waiter in the hotel where the conference was being held. Once inside this delightful family feel Italian is a real treat. As you walk through the front of house to the rear, there is a patio/quadrangle with vines on oak beams above and a bar in the corner. There was a BBQ outside too. We dined in the air conditioned restaurant looking out onto the courtyard. The menu was fantastic. I am a sucker for snails which when I saw they had them with a gorgonzola crust, to add an Italian flavour to the French classic, I had to try them. The picture of the empty serving bowl says it all! Simply delicious. I followed up with more garlic ( I am a fiend for the stuff) and tried the garlic chilli prawns which were equally amazing and didn’t lack for ingredients in their description! Luckily I was sleeping alone that night as I must have smelt like a garlic festival, but the food was amazing. If you are in Santa Cruz this place is simply a must.

One of the finest restaurants I visited during my visit to Santa Cruz.
They have a selection of Bolivian wines, attentive staff, good collection of tasty dishes on their menu.
Do visit to enjoy the old world charm.

Good food great atmosphere fireplace.
European standard and prices but also good homemade pasta, unfortunately we were in a hurry but we love to take time to sit here longer.
The patios is full with romantic lights unfortunately it was cold and we sit inside which was also great.

Came with a large group they had pre-ordered over a week ago. Took an hour to even get bread. Pre-ordered a bottle of wine that never came, no matter how often we asked.
The vegetation lasagna is 45% sugar and 40% cream with some noodles. Horrid.
At least it's really pricey...

This was my second trip to this restaurant and I couldn't be more disappointed. The service was slow to start. The server had no knowledge of the menu. I ordered a Quinoa risotto with calamari and my boyfriend ordered a lasagna.
I returned my dish 2 times because of how salty it was!!!
The lasagna was a soup of cheese.
It was the worst dinner for $70 ever spent.
Never again.

This is the best restaurant in town, great pasta! You have other dishes like meat, seafood and other specialties. Linguine di Filippo is one of the best dishes, a real specialty. Another great thing about this place is the service and it has the best wine variety in the country.

Recommended by a Bolivian friend, we were not disappointed. Lovely traditional ambiance, excellent service and a huge menu of every type of pasta imaginable. I settled for the pasta with salmon which was good and my husband had the Spaghetti Bolognese (a little over salted and the sauce a bit thin). We shared a sumptuous "volcano" chocolate desert. Watch out for potentially being charged twice for service. They told us that service wasn't included in the bill. However, just as we were about to give them "propina" in cash, we looked at the bill to see that it had in fact been included.

I was really surprised to fi d such a great Italian in Bolivia. I had the pasta michaelangelo which was already delicious, but my review went to 5 stars when I had my dessert. The Banana Foster was absolutely incredible. Soft, warm banana with some sort of salted caramel topped off with ice cream goes straight to my top 10 desserts of all time! A real treat!
