About
The Chalet La Suisse Restaurant opened its doors 31 years ago in a rented house on Av.Arce in the city of La Paz. On December 5, 1998, Markus RĂĽegg inaugurated the Restaurant Chalet La Suisse Santa Cruz with an infrastructure designed especially for this activity, merging the modern architecture and elements of the typical Swiss Chalets. In a short time it was accepted in the city of Santa Cruz for its high culinary quality, personalized attention and its constant events and offers.

I seriously believe that anything you order here will be good. They maintain their quality and service through the years, and whatever the event or celebration if you pick La Suisse you're guaranteed to eat well and have a great time.
Food is seriously spectacular and the only difficult thing to do will be to pick out a dish from the menu.

I have only tried La Suisse in La Paz, which is always a joy, so I was looking forward to also try it in Santa Cruz. And it fully lives up to expectations. I would like to emphasise that this restaurant has a really high service level, which I personally value very high. The food is also very good, even though I have only tried a few of the dishes from their super big menu. The menu is actually so big, that I wonder if it is possible to deliver a good product on all these item. Maybe they should consider making the menu somewhat smaller.

Staying at Marriott Santa Cruz de la Sierra, we cast around for nearby restaurants and quickly discovered Chalet La Suisse on Los Gomeros. As it happens, this is almost directly behind the hotel (exit left past small plaza, left at arroyo and keep going straight down Los Gomeros. Maybe 10 minutes walk. Restaurant appears like an oasis on the right, beautifully presented with outside (covered) terrace space and huge indoor space, all very elegant and crisp linen table cloths/perfect table settings. We were impressed by the warm welcome from, I think, Markus Ruegg, who quickly led us to a table, though we hadn't reserved. The menu is eye-poppingly impressive and the wine menu more extensive than I have seen almost anywhere in the world. The food was excellent. My wife had trucha alcappara and I had medallions of beef in pepper sauce with vegetables, accompanied by a bottle of local Malbec. What was most impressive was the attentive service under the watchful but unobtrusive eye of our lady attendant, who was quick to spot any of our needs. For example, the portable table light malfunctioned and was immediately replaced. She also, without asking, provided a bolsita to carry home the unfinished bottle of Malbec.
Some of the reviews on line I'd read did not compare at all with our experience which was first class throughout. Food, service, setting, ambience. A wonderful evening. Thank you. I understand this may be one of Santa Cruz's finest restaurants so the prices were perhaps higher than average but well worth the quality and experience.

The ambiance was quite good, except there were adverts for some coloring pencils in the table and walls (mind that this is one of the "best" restaurants in Santa Cruz)
Tried the "signature" cocktail piña sour: not more than singani with pineapple juice with a plastic straw.
Ordered the cazador llama steak, came with canned mushrooms and canned pickled onions. The meat had a good flavor, yet it came so fast (less than 5 minutes). I can't but think it was reheated.
The servers were nice, yet didn't know anything from the menu and forgot a drink.
At last, the cremme brulee was quite good until, in the end, there were some strawberries that were indistinctly kept for too long (tasted fermented)
In general, quite a disappointment for one of the "best" and expensive restaurants in Stcz

Firstly, the ambiance gives you the expectations of quality that they lived up to. We both started with the Citrus Mule Margarita, which convinced someone who didn’t like tequila to order a second one. We also both had the mixed ceviche, which was excellent. We had two differences main course shrimp dishes, again both were excellent. For dessert, cheesecake and tiramisu. The meal, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. Highly recommended.

Restaurant Chalet La Suisse is located at walking distance of the Santa Cruz Marriott and close to the Hospital Martin Dockweiler. You can dine inside or at the covered terrace. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Service is friendly, efficient and smooth.
We came on a Saturday and the place became very busy with locals, a good sign. We went for Beef Carpaccio and Esperragos with Ham as starters, and as main we had Filet Medallones with Vegetables & Fries accompanied by a ½ bottle of good Argentinian Malbec and mineral water. We ended with Crème Brûlée and Ice-cream Amor Caliente. The food was well presented and very tasty and the desserts were excellent.
When you like to dine in a very good restaurant with reasonable pricing: Chalet La Suisse is the place for you. Highly recommended.

We weren't that impressed with the city of Santa Cruz, so we looked for a good restaurant, as we couldn't find one in the center. There are a number of very good restaurants around the Chalet La Suisse restaurant.
Nice atmosphere and a very busy restaurant, which is why we were drawn to this restaurant. Very nice welcome and we were able to choose two tables because of the very good reservation situation.
Very nice service and we had tuna carpaccio and beef carpaccio as starters. For the main course, as befits a Swiss restaurant, we had the excellent filet stroganoff made from the best quality meat. This also applied to the Argentinian ribeye. For dessert we had passion fruit mousse. We had the Bolivian wine Campos Reserva to accompany our meal. The restaurant also offers very good value for money. The friendly head chef (Swiss) also pays a quick visit to each table.

Very good restaurant with attentive well trained staff and substantial menu choice. The wine menu is also good.
I’m told that this restaurant is full whenever it is open which is testimony to the quality of its products.
I can recommend the duck breast which was tasty and tender.
There is also parking immediately across the road.
This is an excellent 4 star.

There is no other restaurant in Bolivia that surpasses this one. The place is super cozy, the service impeccable, the owner of the place always friendly and smiling, and the menu is exquisite. Every time I visit Santacruz Bolivia I go to this restaurant to share the magnificent experience of eating and enjoying here. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this restaurant if you visit Santacruz. I will always come back!

When at a congress this week we literally stumbled across this place and had lunch and dinner there.
The decoration might be a bit old fashioned, but the service is superb and the food absolutely delicious.
We had the cordero tonnato, a carpaccio of ostrich for starters, a cheese fondue, all kinds of meat and fish for main course, and assorted dessert - all very good.
And it’s not just the quality of the food itself but also the variety of dishes served.
I went to a couple of other places in Sta Cruz, but undoubtedly this has been the best.

My experience during the visit to this restaurant was excellent.
The dishes are deliciously tasty, well plated and served with lot of attention.
A great place to visit, though the pricing is slightly on higher side.

Great food, nice atmosphere, and good service. I had the cerdo a los Andes, pork skewers with knĂĽpfel, and chocolate souffle, which were really good. My friends had the duck in orange sauce and I had serious order envy. Make a reservation as it gets busy on a Saturday night.
