My boyfriend and I just went here tonight. We had hotpot which we can recommend, and the waiter (I think his name was Xiao Li) was really nice. He explained and showed us how everything worked and was very kind to us. He is actually the main reason for this 5-star review :)

If you are staying at the Shangri-La hotel and have a river view you will be struck by this attractive building nearby, especially at night when it is illuminated. To reach it, though it is only a few yards away, you must take your life in your hands and cross a busy carriageway. Day or night, cars will not stop... More

This historical bridge restaurant has a true Chengdu charm. It is one of Chengdu's sights and offering an authentic style cuisine. We enjoyed the food very much and will definitely come back. The main restaurant is more a dining hall missing a bit of atmosphere. We looked at the private dining rooms which are nicely laid out and furnished with... More

This hotel is opposite the Shangri-La and we risked life in crossing the road to eat here. Food was good, not amazing, but good but the staff were so helpful to us poor westerners that couldn't speak their language that it was a joy to dine there.

Dined here with Chinese work colleagues, this helped as very little English spoken by staff, but they are very friendly. Dined upstairs so good views, loved watching the bats. Food is pretty good, spicy unsurprisingly, ate tofu about 10 different ways! Wine list overpriced, stick with the local beer.

No English spoken here but we were able to point at pictures and did surprisingly well. Any red colored dishes are spicy hot and mouth numbing. Beer is only served to men, women were stuck with water! Nice location with great city views. The most dangerous part was crossing the street to get there.

This is a lovely location and the serving staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, no one spoke English and the English menu was not very descriptive. The duck dish we ordered was very nice and flavorful. The fish dish, well let's just say it tasted like rubber. To the staff's credit, they tried very diligently to communicate with us and were... Unfortunately the restaurant was closed whilst we were there, as it was in the morning, BUT, it is a very photogenic and iconic bridge that is well worth visiting. You can cross the river useing the bridge and see the plaque to commemorate the fact that it was highly thought of by Marco Polo. Just down stream you acn watch... More
