From comedians to live music to spitoons Bookworm hosts some great events. Their food menu is good and has a nice amount of variety. The quality of the food vs the price of it isn't great though. It's expensive in my opinion, I still love the relaxed vibe and atmosphere though

I don't see what the hype is with this place. Their internet is really slow and their food is really expensive. Ordered a "warm" brownie with ice cream and the brownie seemed like it was just pulled from the refrigerator. Their mango smoothie didn't even taste like mango. Yeah it looks cool inside but it's not worth the visit if... More

After living in Chengdu for more than 1-1/2 years as an expat, no other restaurant or bar can match the ambiance and comfortable surrounds of the Chengdu Bookworm. Being a book connoisseur and amateur writer, I just like being around books and good friends, but Bookworm takes this to another level with it's terrific menu of fresh and delicious meals... More

There bookworm is a good place to meet and get a bite to eat while staying in Chengdu. Good wholesome food at a reasonable price and a nice coffee to accompany it. Used by many locals and expats as a meeting venue it really is a good place to hang out. Lots of book to browse or even buy while... More

The Bookworm is a great place to go relax and eat. The first time I went there was a weekday afternoon. I ordered a bottle of wine and the Cheeseboard appetizer. Both were reasonably priced. I enjoyed them while sitting on one of their comfy sofas in a tranquil environment. Getting some work done on my laptop using their wifi.... More

Very nice place to have some western food, though a bit more pricey. We had the apple salad and a veg curry which were both very nice. Comfortable seating, good wifi and many books.

I love the Bookworm. Great food, western favorites from healthy fare to indulgent cheese plates, burgers and desserts and some dishes with local character ("Asian favorites" I believe their menu says and then also things like Sichuan salad with Sichuan BBQ chicken). Their programming is great, quiz night, live music, a writers group I keep wanting to join. And of... More

Although the staff's English is rather limited, you will find mainly non-asians in the Bookworm. It is a cosy place to hang out, read a book or eat a burger. Recommended if you miss home a bit or if you're looking for a book or someone to speak to.

This is a great place for a quiet lunch or for a coffee . It serves a good selection of food at a reasonable price and is very peaceful . Inside is smoke free, which is nice as many other places are too smoky . A great place to relax.

It’s easy to see why The Bookworm is such a hit among both locals and foreigners in Chengdu; where else can you spend savouring fabulous international food, browsing thousands of books, sipping good espresso, being regaled by eminent authors, catching up with friends over your favourite meal, or simply just checking your emails? The spacious, interconnecting rooms with floor-to-ceiling books on every wall are light and airy in summer, yet cosy and snug in winter.
