The son/nephew of the owner who led us here via a jewelry store is a con artist. His name is possibly Gabrielle. He seems to be allowed to operate freely here. He charged a beer to our tab then tried to charge us for showing us some jewelry we didn't want to buy. He then got a fat guy and... More

Some local folks pointed us toward this place when we found Cafe del Mar didn't open until 5pm. The front of the restaurant was really hot, so we were seated in the air-conditioned back room. It smelled overwhelmingly like Pine Sol, but since that meant it was likely clean, we stayed. We ordered Arroz con Pollo, which was a huge... More

Looks like a cool place but in fact it can get pretty dangerous if you are not careful enough. The owner runs his cocaine business at this place and his boys often attract young tourists from the street to have a drink there. They find you a seat in the back room with AC and bring you drugs and won't... More

We entered the restaurant by chance, it was not that full but our main course took an hour to come. The ceviche was OK but nothing special. I didnt like the sauce of Lomo de cerdo en finas hierbas. My husband had filete a la marinera and it was OK. The decor is colouful and certainly unique! We were in... More

Right beside the expensive tourist Plaza, took a beer here for half the price, liked the nice staff and the georgious setting, so went back in the evening for a meal. Ordered a File Mignon, the largest one I have ever had, so tender I hardly needed chewing, and for less than ten dollars. Gotta get back to Cartagena again,... More

We stopped by La Mantilla while exploring the old city. We were looking to try local fried fish and saw quite a few people sitting inside. Atmosphere was nice, although people street will come and hassle you (we had a couple kids perform a Dr. Dre rap while we were eating). Food was fairly priced and I highly recommend you... More

The atmosphere isn't exactly great, but it is centrally located, the food is pretty good, and the prices are on average for the center of town. Try the cazuela de mariscos, for instance.

I loved the bright fun style of this place. The staff was friendly and inviting. I only wish it were closer to my home and I'd hang out there a lot more often!

Very chill place for dinner. Very quiet the night we went. Food was average. Better places out there. Good value though.

Don't limit yourselves to dining only at Plaza Santo Domingo...just around the corner is a great place, LA MANTILLA, on the Calle de la Mantilla, where the prices are quite lower and the food is great. I and friends went there and had a nice steak and beer for half the price at the plaza. It is a bit out... More
