My boyfriend and I Ioved this place. It's a taxi ride away from Poblado, only about 5 minutes and 5k COP, which was all worth it. The atmosphere was nice but more importantly the food and service were great. I got the modongo and boyfriend got a beef stew type dish. Both very delicious, the beef stew meat was very... More

According to the waiters the restaurant is packed at lunchtime; we went for dinner and it was no problem to get seated and be waited on. We had the traditional Columbia food, which were great portions and fairly priced. Well worth a visit to see this pretty place and have local food.

We visited this restaurant across the street from hotel intercontinental.. in my opinion the food was of better quality than the hotel and for a reasonable price. we left the restaurant very content and full and will return in the future. If you are a meat lover try the medallions, you won't be disappointed. Upon paying you also receive shot... More

Good local Colombian food, not cheap but definitely not expensive even by Colombian standards. Services was attentive, maybe even too much (my plate was taken away from me as I was still chewing on my last mouthfull). Large parking, and has live music at least once a week. Overall a good experience is you want to taste some Antioquian specialties.

From the food to the talented singers to the ambiance to the service , we were thoroughly pleased with our experience.. it is an oasis of real Colombian tradition and not to be missed .. the pork loin in tamarind sauce was a home run and fed two of us. Add one appetizer and you will be more than full.... More

If you are looking for authentic paisa food Hatoviejo it's the right place. They have two locations in Medellin one in front if Intercontinental Hotel and the other one in Oviedo. They have two versions of bandeja paisa (small and big - anyway both of them are big for a women hahaha), and the chicharrón (fried pork) are the best.... More

Went there for lunch today, to have some comida tipica. They run. The gamut of Colombian food - ajiaco, mondongo, bandeja, frijoles, cazuelas... Knowing the typical size of a traditional serving, I asked for the executive size. It still was huge! Crispy chicharrones, sausage, minced meat, and of course the avocado and refried beans. Forget the diet! Awesome.

We were here on a Friday night. They have the restaurant area and a patio style area (old school Colombian style). We sat at the patio which was great, casual and there was live music which was awesome! The dishes are local and varied, tasty and generous portions. Service was friendly as well. Would recommend for a night out.

Excellent local fare. Try one of the cazuelas, which are hearty stews that one person cannot possibly finish alone, or go with the grilled meats/fish. I ate the trout which was perfect. At about $15-$20/person, you cannot go wrong and will come away stuffed.

Our history dates more than 30 years ago, when Hatoviejo was established in front of the 5 star Intercontinental Hotel. We wanted to provide the city with a cozy atmosphere, full with paisa culture and offer guests the best of Colombia's traditional food and cuisine (Bandeja Paisa, Ajiaco, Sancocho, Mondongo, Sudado, etc.), Complemented with other international dishes: barbecues / grills. Short after, Medellin demanded more locations to please the downtown business executives and families. 10 Years later, in the Oviedo shopping mall another location was opened. Today, all three continue in service and offer a wider menu including salads, soups, cazuelas, colombian desserts and a wide selection of wines. During this time, Hatoviejo has been a reference in the sector for its delicious food, excellent service and comfortable spaces that evoke the most traditional Colombian architecture and the paisa culture. Today, Hatoviejo is recognized as one of the top restaurants in Medellin and Colombia. Throughout the years that Hatoviejo has welcomed locals and tourists, it has received important prizes and recognitions like "Best Restaurant in Antioquia" by La Barra magazine in 2011 and the Rosa De Los Vientos prize, granted by the Colombian Tourism Journalist Association.
