Toast was excellent. My wife got an egg scramble that she said was pretty good, but I ordered carrot cake pancakes that I’m still thinking about almost two weeks later. They were so good and so decadent. I also want to try their bananas foster pancakes that someone at a table nearby ordered – those looked unbelievable as well. Service was good. Coffee refilled multiple times. Prices were on par with the neighborhood. I’ve already recommended this place for breakfast to friends who frequently visit Asbury Park.

My wife and I looked this place up and started a chilly beach Sunday at Toast City Diner. They had outdoor seating but we preferred indoors. Our server, was very friendly. My wife ate Sangenero Scramble which she enjoyed. The sourdough toast was super thick. I ate the carrot cake pancakes. They were perfect. Not too sweet. The server made a mistake and my pancakes came out plain so he offered me a second side of bacon which he didn’t have to do but was very kind. I highly recommend.

We visited Toast for lunch with friends visiting from out of town. Service was friendly and attentive, prices were reasonable the menu had lots of options. Keep in mind this is a BYOB establishment. Take note on the menu: There is something that I had never seen before, a juice flight. After a brief discussion as to what this is for. We quickly figured it out. Bring your vodka or your Prosecco and you’re all set. The lobster roll was delicious. It was full of sweet, briny lobster lightly coded in mayonnaise. Scrumptious their egg dishes were huge and inventive. Be sure to check out their avocado toast offerings, so yummy.

A huge rip-off. I ordered an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. The egg was as hard as a hockey puck and the cheese was so thin it was barely visible. The wait time was extraordinary. All this for $9.00! In my neighborhood, an egg and cheese sandwich goes for $3.50. Toast is a major tourist trap who unapologetically prey on unsuspecting customers. You'd be much better off going on Main St. (very close by) and selecting a breakfast place there. For example, go to Frank's.

My family and I were seated at 11:53 am and did not get our order taken until 12:15 and actually served until 1:15 pm. Meanwhile, families around us were seated after us and served quickly. Not sure if it was the kitchens fault or server, but the fact that we just sat waiting and were offered slices of bacon as a form of apology was disgusting. However, the kind woman who sat across from us with her family, was seated after and served before us, took note as well. I want to say thank you to her for her generosity. It is comforting to know there are still such wonderful people in this world. God bless

My sister and I ordered take out from Toast on a Sunday morning recently. We would have preferred to dine in, but with the website advising that they were take out only, we ordered through the website for pick up. Upon arriving we discovered a nice outdoor dining space and asked if we could eat at one of the tables instead. One of the hostesses asked who I assume was a manager if this was possible, and he told us no as the tables were for dine in only patrons. We waited for our coffees to be made, paid for our food, and left. My sister has type 1 diabetes and a great deal of planning has to go into simple activities of daily living, such as eating. We found a park bench to sit on and opened up our meals. My sister found no silverware with her omlette and the egg I had added on to my meal was missing. We packed everything up and headed back to Toast. When we arrived to the window my sister let the manager know my egg was missing and asked for silverware for herself. He took my carton and came back a bit later. Still no silverware but he did mention that the egg wasn't on the order so that was why it wasn't included. Neither of us are ones to complain. We know it's difficult at anyone's place of work and we don't want to add to that. I know well that we paid enough to cover an egg added to my toast but we let it go. My sister felt the shakes coming on and again asked for silverware. He headed back to the kitchen. Then her various devices started beeping, her blood sugars plummeting because her body expected to have eaten by that time. At this point I asked a seating hostess for some silverware as my sister began eating what she could with her hands. An offer to sit at one of their tables would have been nice. Not blaming the customer for a wrong order would have been nice. A genuine apology would have sufficed. By the time I received my order, we warned the guy waiting for his food behind us to check his bag before walking away, and we sat again to eat, we could have sat at one of Toast's outdoor tables, eaten, and have been gone. The good really was good, even at room temperature. I don't EVER write negative reviews because I don't believe it messing with people's livelihoods, but I felt this needed to be heard. I truly hope Toast considers ALL the needs of patrons to their restaurant.

My wife, daughter and I decided to try this place for breakfast after hearing good things about it. Let me first say the service was very good, everything else went down hill from there. Breakfast started with three small cinnamon buns which were okay at best. My wife odered two eggs and sausage. I ordered the eggs Benedict, my daughter the crab hash. We each also had a cup of coffee. The bill...$60 and change not including the tip! For food that was mediocre at best and how much food was served, price was out of bounds.

We were there for lunch . We were seated immediately and the waitress was very attentive. I enjoyed the Cobb Salad and thought everything tasted fresh. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. I recommend this for casual or diner style dining. Good food, decent prices.

This a horrible place management lies and the owner is nasty. Went to eat here last week . Got there at 2:04 . They say the can’t seat you because they close at 2:00. The person at the door tells me he is the manger. I ask him to have the owner call me. He then calla me 5 minutes later and tell me he is the owner. So basically he lies to My face I went to The website before I came and called. They list all 3 locations On their website and underneath all 3 locations hours are listed open until 2:30. Then they start arguing with me that it was the hours for a different location. Many customers came by with the same complaint Then the owner send me a nasty message. I read an article this place is in trouble due to Covid. . You think they could me nicer to their customers There are so many nice places in Ashbury . I would skip this one

Great eggs and fantastic pancakes. Friendly service. Nice ambiance (casual, wood, sort of rustic). What’s not to like ? I had the pancake sampler which is a great way to try a variety. Lemon ricotta for the win.

I'm not sure what I liked best. The food itself? The atmosphere? Or the fine service? The combination of all really sums it up! I ordered the Florentine Special. It was delish, with a lovely presentation and fresh ingredients. The latte was perfect. We ate outside on a quiet Monday morning in August. All was clean and well organized. Even the bathrooms were well decorated and sparkling. The "icing on our cake" was our delightful wait staff, Connor. It was clear that he loved his work. His smile was infectious and the conversations were lovely.

Great atmosphere and excellent waiter. Full menu, nice treats and touches. However, one issue -- do not order the Belgian Waffle ! Instead of light and crisp, it was soft and soggy center. I sent it back (waiter very accommodating ) but the replacement was an identical disaster. Otherwise, all was very good.

The French toast latte and carrot cake pancake were outstanding. Really amazing. And, the toast is really good too, appropriately well-toasted. However, both my husband and I were not wowed by the omelette we ordered. I had the bacon Brie and he had the smoked salmon. They had enough ingredients, but were surprisingly kind of blah. Not very savory or tasty. Some salt? Some herbs or spices? Same with the potatoes. No flavor whatsoever, and food service quality. However, I’d go back just for the pancakes.

What a gem of a diner! I had such a hard time choosing what to eat because there were so many great options! I went with the California Scramble, but also ordered a single carrot cake pancake. That’s right...a single. You can order a regular stack, a short stack or a single. I loved that option. The food was great. The others in my party had the Reuben and the Thai wrap. 2 thumbs up for this place.
