We very much enjoyed our dinner at Stella Marina. The food was delicious, our waiter Sam was very professional and attentive, made good recommendations and took excellent care of us. Why only 4 stars? Complicated seating arrangement - you need to go in, ask to be seated and wait for someone to come out to seat you. Though the place was practically empty, a family with a noisy toddler was seated right next to us. The bathrooms are on the second floor, if you are disabled you need to leave the restaurant and go through the garbage room to the elevator - not a good arrangement to say the least

I went based on a recommendation. The atmosphere was promising, the company was great. My issue was at the end when I went to pay and presented a credit card, nothing was said to me about a "Non-cash Admin fee" which was 3% of the bill. Clearly this was for credit card usage. Ok I get it as I run a business, and it is the price of doing business. My issue is it was never communicated by the server, it was not on the menu, it was not mentioned when the reservation was made. So I tipped based on the menu prices, less the Taxes and less the 3%. If was told beforehand I would have, and I always tip over 20%. In the end food was fine, however, the 3% left a bad taste

We actually were here for a bridal shower and usually food at these events is just ok . Pleasantly surprised ..the first two course were served family style …for the first course they put 2 types of pizza on the table, white pizza with mushrooms & a veggie pizza plus a huge bowl of meatballs , bread , and calamari .. all were delicious . Second course was ginormous bowls of rigatoni ala vodka, a mushroom ravioli in a cream sauce , and Caesar salad .. the final course was chicken parm or salmon .. everyone was full and happy . We are definitely going to try this place for dinner soon

Thank you our dinner was wonderful and Kristen made it even more enjoyable. The drinks were great the oysters were fabulous and the Halibut special plus the meatballs were great. We were going to come back on Sunday for brunch since the sign said you would be open at 11 am but we were there around 11:15ish and you were closed. Yes there was a St. Patty Day parade this day.

Booked a special occasion dinner at a busy time. Our entrees never came and service was just terrible - after two hours with no food or water refilled, we were done. While the restaurant rightfully comped our early drinks, it was disappointing that there was no acknowledgement of an important night ruined by such poor management. A simple approach by a manager to help smooth over the unfortunate disaster of the evening would have gone a long way. This was a management failure - I love the spot and can only hope it gets back to its former glory from this low point.

My Family and I went here for our weekly night out to dinner at different restaurants. We were seated on the first level. It took the waitress a little while to come over. She then took our drink order and gave us what tasted like stale bread. Two of our appetizers included the same type of bread that was in the bread basket as a crostini. Which didn’t help the taste of the bread. One of my daughters as I both had two different pizzas. They both came out with a burnt crust and lacking in taste. My wife’s Filet was good. My other’s daughter Chicken Parm was also good. The tiramisu had to much cocoa powder on top of it. Made the taste a little off putting. Don’t think we would return in the future as it is expensive for lacking in food quality and service.

my daughter and I started our day at Langosta Lounge and were so disappointed. I wanted to eat at Pop's Garage but were told the two had merged. Our server wasn't helpful and didn't have her long hair neatly pulled back. We ordered wine and looked at the menu, overpriced and nothing appealed to us. We got the check, two very small pours of wine was $23 with tip. Went to Stella Marina and had a very different experience. A very enthusiastic, clean server greeted us immediately with a basket of wonderful crusty bread with olive oil. We ordered wine which was a good pour in a pretty glass and shared the eggplant appetizer which we shared and was more than enough. What a wonderful dining experience!

My wife and I had 12:30 reservations for lunch. Pulled up the menu, went to the lunch tab, ordered a couple of pasta dishes and split an appetizer. The food was fine. Then the check was delivered, and the prices were off by 40%. They charged dinner prices at lunch time! We brought it to the attn of the waiter, who went back, came out and said "my manager said we aren't serving lunch today"! This was not stated on the menu, and wasn't brought to our attention when we ordered.
This was a flagrant rip off, and the manner in which our complaint was callously dismissed was infuriating. Stella Marina was a long time favorite of my wife and her best friend, but we won't be back.

Been a few times and the most recent was less than impressive. Shown to a table and were forgotten about for about 10 minutes. Saw the young man who we discovered was our waiter getting drinks orders to two tables seated after us. We then ordered drinks/appetizers, which came in good time, but then came the problems. Our meals came out super-fast, but the bottle of wine we ordered didn't show up until we were done eating--and we are not fast eaters! Our waiter had disappeared...I guess though that was better than the couple next to us who got their meals and THEN the waiter arrived with the oysters they'd ordered to start with. The food is good but pricey to that sort of service, but the view is wonderful. Uneven.

After an entire year of not eating in a restaurant, we chose Stella Marina to celebrate my birthday on Saturday night. We made a reservation and arrived on time but still had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The waiting area is tight and had quite a few other people waiting so we had difficulty finding a place to wait that was 6 feet away from others.
They took us upstairs to seat us which was fine since we got married in that room 10 years ago and I was shocked to see how crowded it was. My husband has been vaccinated but I have not and I was very anxious about being in an enclosed room packed with people. We didn't order apps, only an entre and literally ate and ran. We were in such a hurry to get out of there that my husband accidently left his credit card there and had to go retrieve it the next day.
When my friend asked me how we enjoyed our dinner I said that it was ruined by the fact that there was too many people in the room and therefore we could not relax and enjoy.
I understand that restaurants have had a terrible year and need to try and make money where and when they can but there are still restrictions in place. In NJ it is 35% and Stella has seating capacity for 210 so the most by law they are supposed to have is 71 people. Not a chance, way more people there on Saturday night than that.
Although I love this restaurant and I've eaten here probably at least 50 times since they opened, we won't be going back any time soon.

My wife and I had a late lunch at Stella Marina and thought the food was creative and delicious. This is not your typical New jersey Italian restaurant with a me too American Italian menu. This is sophisticated cuisine. The only downside was the spotty service which we attributed to the whole covid thing where it is very difficult for restaurants to plan on staffing levels. There was only one waiter taking care of tables both inside and outside. Most of the problem was in the kitchen with the timing for bringing out our appetizers and main course. On the plus side we got our drinks, bread and menus shortly after sitting down at our table. We left the restaurant around 2:30 and interestingly there were a number of tables both inside and out occupied.

Went there last night to celebrate a friends Birthday. Our drinks didn’t arrive until after our dinner arrived, we asked multiple times for silverware and napkins, the bread they served was stale and cold, they don’t even give you butter. Repeatedly asked for water and they yes you to death and never follow through. Oh and very Overpriced! Not going back.

This was a somewhat spontaneous short getaway to Asbury Park, due to the great weather. After hours at the beach went to my room, took a brief nap,. I had been up since 4 am. I asked someone at the hotel to recommend a restaurant that had good fish. The Stella Marina was mentioned. I didn't want to have to drive, walking distance was what I wanted. I presented myself at the restaurant, and wondered if I could even get a table. At first, I was told no tables. Ok, but she checked and said I had a table due to some people not keeping their reservation. I sat at a 4 top near the bar. After 20 minutes I asked a young waitress about service. (Respectfully) I would later learn that her name was Brayden. She made a great evening greater. Started off with a crisp cool glass of chardonnay from California.
I perused the menu, very interesting, and decide to have the Scotch salmon. What a marvelous call! Salmon with pine nut, spinach, cranberries?, small potatoes with Parmesan cheese. Hadn't eaten since 8 this morning. Had another glass of wine.
Ordered dessert, another great choice, strawberries so large, that I dipped in zabaglione sauce. This was a superb dinner. Bill was reasonable. Gave Brayden generous tip. I find myself trying to be even more generous in the post covid world.
Would revisit this restaurant in a heartbeat Thank you Brayden.

I've been going to Stella Marina for years, and I always had a good meal there. However, most recently I was beyond disappointed. I had the salmon, and I should have realized when I wasn't asked how I'd like it cooked that it was not going to be good. I've had better salmon from Costco, and I didn't pay over $70 for it. The friend I was with was not happy with her dinner either.
As someone stated, yeah, it's turned into boardwalk food.
Unfortunately, I won't be having dinner there any longer.

8 of us stopped in on a snowy windy night before heading to the Paramount Theatre for one of our may 2020 LOD shows. We split several pizzas with the Vodka and Mar pizzas the group favorites, The place was beautiful and their full lmenu looked very good.
Our server was excellent and I look forward to a return visit in better weather to enjoy their outdoor seaside dining when we're not as pressed for time.
