We participated in the Jersey Shore Restaurant Week and decided to dine at Moonstruck in Asbury Park because they had the best fixed price restaurant week menu selections out of all of them. This was no surprise as we know Moonstruck well and dine there several times a year because, well, the food, service and ambiance are just top notch. Owners/operators Howard and Luke know how to run a restaurant and there's simply no denying that. From the warm greeting at the door when you arrive to being escorted upstairs to your table, to the changing of silverware for each course, to the water glasses being serviced throughout the meal, every detail of the experience is obviously, masterfully crafted for an optimum experience. And all of that is before you've even tasted your first bite of food. The menus tend to meet the seasons and at our table last night, the family enjoyed pumpkin soup, a Fall apple and cranberry salad and Kung Pao Calamari. All were beyond reproach, especially the calamari, probably the best I've ever had. I had the Chicken Madeira with mushroom risotto and it was spectacular. The rest of the family had Rigatoni with Pumpkin and Goat Cheese and we all raved about it. We finished off the fine meal with a Pear Cranberry Crisp that just worked so well for the time of year and the restaurant week concept. Moonstruck is on the higher end, and they don't take reservations, but for the dining experience being offered I don't believe that matters at all. This is one of our favorite local restaurants, if not our number 1.

Dinner at Moonstruck with family this past Sunday night was an excellent experience. The interior decor is warm and very inviting, with plenty of room between tables. Our server, Brian Rauh was very attentive and personable, if not entertaining, as he helped us to choose our entrees. We started with the fried calamari, which was excellent! I had the rack of lamb from the regular entree menu and the rest of my party ordered the various fish entrees off of the special multi course menu. All of our meals were excellent. Check out the attached photos to see the presentation. With our meal we ordered the Markham CA Merlot and house Chardonnay., All good choices to compliment our various meals. For dessert, I had the chocolate moose with raspberry tart., Fabulous end to an already great meal. Pricing is reasonable at $80 per person, including tax and tip, but remember this is a higher end restaurant and dining experience. If you go there on Friday or Saturday, get their early as parking can be tight, but on Sunday, there is plenty of close parking. Remember that street parking is metered, even on Sunday, so you sould install the convenient Asbury Park parking app on your mobile phone to pay for parking. I highly recommend Moonstruck for just about any occasion where a high end dining experience is desired. Moonstruck's menu has something for everyone. I look forward to my next dining experience at Moonstruck.

While the entrees looked good, we decided to go with a selection of appetizers, which turned out to be a lot of food!!! They were also delicious. The baked brie with apricot jam was beautifully prepared and silky smooth. The smoked salmon flatbread was good, though a bit bland. We had excellent calamari - tender and gently breaded. The mezze platter was excellent. Instead of dessert we ordered a watermelon salad with feta, arugula and balsamic reduction. Perfect. Service was top notch and friendly and the place itself had a lot of atmosphere.

This is not the place to go if you are looking for exceptional food. The food is very expensive , but sadly I felt it was maybe one notch above olive garden flavor wise. Very under seasoned and lacked depth completely. The service was fantastic! The building is beautiful, sitting out on the patio is lovely. I don't drink , but it looked like they had a vast and interesting assortment of cocktails, so it might be a great place for enjoying cocktails with friends and family. But I definitely wasn't impressed by the food, especially for the price.

Hadn't been to Moonstruck in ages but their $39 dinner special attracted us to visit mid-week. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, only surpassed by outstanding service and wonderful food. We enjoyed everything, from start to finish and found the special menu to be on par with their regular dishes. Our waitress was great and really gave our table of four her full attention even though the restaurant was packed. Moonstruck is tops on our list for another visit soon!

The no reservation policy means either you are forced to walk around town - but not too far - with no idea when they will drain to call you or hang in their boring bar area checking and begging the hostess to seat you. The hostess is rude and when you finally get seated it is in a faceless uncomfortable restaurant two or three flights up. The wait staff is fine but the selections are limited, expensive, and uninspired. Don't waste your time.

Over the last few years I've give this restaurant 3 opportunities to redeem itself after poor "food" experiences. Friday, 10/14/22 was the worst among the visits. My son and daughter in law were anxious to give Moonstruck a try. My wife and I agreed to join them despite our hesitation. Victoria at the downstairs bar was friendly and professional. The server, Dan, was also professional and attentive. The busperson, Debbie, worked very hard throughout the dining room. The ambiance is also a positive as there is a cool vibe in the space. The problem is the food! The shrimp appetizer was undercooked with a minimal portion. 2 orders of Chicken Milanese were inedible. My half chicken was overcooked. I left most of it on the plate. We will not return!

We wanted to get to this restaurant early, because they do not take reservations. I believe that one of the owners greeted us as we walked in and we were immediately taken to the second floor porch/veranda. We gave our drink orders and appetizer of baked brie. The food here is traditional, but really good. For our main course dinners we had shrimp and scallop with pea and asparagus risotto, and fish stew. Everything was tasty and wonderfully prepared. We shared a key lime coconut pie dessert. We loved every minute at this restaurant and the service was beyond top notch. If you eat here ask for Samantha. I understand that all of the servers are wonderful, but Samantha was exceptional. We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We ares so happy that Moonstruck decided reopen after COVID.

We stopped by the restaurant to grab a couple of cocktails and appetizers before going to a concert at PNC. Everything was wonderful. They have a great cocktail menu. I had some lovely summer sangria. We tried the baked Brie and the delicious baby artichokes with lemon aioli. Yummy! Our server was terrific. I’m definitely looking to returning here for dinner, but will wait until after the season ends, as they do not take reservations and it is always packed (which is actually a testament to how good it truly is!).

We were in Asbury Park for a wedding and my husband and friends of ours just drove by Moonstruck. I said, "let's eat there, it looks pretty." The staff was so nice, we had a drink at the bar, good drinks then went upstairs to eat. Two of us had the branzino, one the risotto with shrimp and scallops and the special short ribs. All wonderful. The waiter was very nice and helpful with wine choice. A very nice stop and dinner. Would surely go if you're in Asbury Park. The restaurant is nice and open not so stuffy.

Reccomended by a friend who nailed it. Always wanted to try it and got in this Thursday for our family of six. They have a great atmosphere, food and service. We had Bistro Pizza, Kennedys, rack of Lamb, Chicken Milanese, Rigatoni Special and Shrimp and Scallops over Rissoto all were delicious. I would highly recommend. Try the Key Lime Pie and Black and White Creme Brulee with and Expresso Martini.

Does anyone remember “the bonus”? We have been here twice this month, once with friends from North Jersey and tonight with a dear friend who moved to the Jersey shore! Besides asking about “the bonus”, does anyone remember Moonstruck in Ocean Grove? My sisters and I would take our Mom to Mass in Spring Lake and beg her to leave after Communion so we could be at the first seating!! We even had our car pointing North! Well anyway Moonstruck has only gotten bigger and better since and we love it there! “The Bonus” is the little carafe alongside our martinis…generous portions and an old-fashioned way long forgot in most restaurants. Besides the generous drinks, the food is outstanding and always consistent…changing with the seasons. Victoria is still at the downstairs bar and lovely as ever. We arrived early for dinner and our drinks were brought upstairs to our table by a server with great balance, sorry did not get her name, just polka dot sweater…best of all is Dan, our main server who we have had both visits this month…professional, courteous and grateful!

We love going to Moonstruck. I can be both a romantic evening for just me and my wife or a great family or friends outing. In fact I've even gone there by myself and sat on the upstairs balcony with a view of the ocean. The food is always very good and have never had an issue with the service. The only negative is that they do not take reservation unless it is a large party, and in the summer the wait can be a bit long. But definitely worth it! Pretty good wine list and a great bar that always has a unique specialty cocktail. If you're in Asbury Park for a stay, or even if you are a short drive away, you should check out Moonstruck.

Food was good. Portions could’ve been a bit bigger and I didn’t like the celery in the rice. My daughter loved her salad. Bread was good. Waiter was quirky. Nice guy but I like my personal space and not the quickest. We saw my husbands drink sitting at the bar, ice melting away, for quite a while before we got it. He had the short rib Wellington and thought it tasted like his grandmothers brisket so he liked that.
