I've wanted to eat here for some time. I'm in sales in NYC, and historic steakhouses are typically fun and delicious. The atmosphere here is great, the food quality seems there, but..... My medium steak came out overdone and cold. My wife's rare rack of...lamb came out raw..... $100 worth of food between the two plates.... Our waitress asked how the food was, so I told her. She looked at my steak sitting on an arid dessert of a plate, without a bit of juice to be found on it, and then my wife's raw (and I mean raw) lamb and suggested we ordered our meat temperatures poorly. I guess at this stage in life we still can't figure what medium and rare mean. We were given a banana - chocolate burrito dessert for free by the manager (aweful). Joke's on me I guess, I paid the hefty bill and left a good tip regardless. Too many other dining options in AC to deal with this.... very disappointing.More

Booked this place in a recommendation of a local for a client dinner was not disappointed the old ambiance and charm of this place takes you back in time with fabulous dishes presented with modern flair I personally had the lobster thermidor and it blew...my mind absolutely delicious!! Others had filet/tail, baked seafood zero complaints and the bacon was crazy delicious as well! Get here and treat yourself!More

We had dinner at the Knife and Fork last night and it was delicious. I had one of their signature cocktails called bee's knees made with local honey and gin, amazing. My wife had the kobe sliders and I had the mouth watering 18 oz...cowboy ribeye. 5 stars.More

This is our second visit to the Knife and Fork and it will now and forever be a stop when we go to AC. Our first visit was January for my Birthday where they made room for us even though we called late for a...reservation once they knew it was my birthday. This time we planned ahead and after riding from Philly to AC for the Ben to Shore bike ride, I was hungry. Sandi our server could not have been nicer and the atmosphere is great. I had above mentioned 28oz steak, my wife had the seafood risotto. Portions were great and we had enough for a 2nd meal, so we had dessert! I had peach cobbler, Jane the Tandycakes and both were excellent. Now, is it pricey? Yes. But, we eat out about 4 times a year and work very hard, and this is one place we have found worth going to for that special time. Thank you all and see you next time we hit AC.More

I really want to give this place a better review, but. Omar? I think that was our waiters name was very good and personable. We had reservations at 4:15, so we showed up around 3:58 and noticed a line formed outside. Well, it was raining...and patrons were getting wet. They opened the door around 4:10 , which surprised me that they let the customers stand out in the rain. The lobster bisque was just okay and I didn’t like the au gratin potatoes. Bread was horrible. My wife got the seafood risotto which she said was okay. We had water with our meal, and it stayed empty for about 15 minutes. I’m sorry but at a restaurant that charges this much money, this shouldn’t happen. You expect better. Dessert was goodMore

I had some concerns about dining here as I thought it might be something of a tourist thing, but my expectations were great exceeded. Both food and service was excellent and the pricing was pretty reasonable. Easy valet parking was also a nice feature. Lots...of history to be found if you stroll around the bar and the two floor. Recommend that you try to get seated upstairs, They were busy but honored our reservation right on time.More

After years of wanting to come here we finally did. The food as you'll see in the photos was excellent. Our main server was also very good and did a great job in the check backs. The only 2 issues I had was you enter...from the front door through the somewhat casual bar and the food runner, (the person that brings the food to your table) wasn't very refined. This is a fine dining experience. When the food runner brings your table app and puts it on the corner of the table, (because they didn't make an effort to move anything) certainly doesn't leave you the feeling you are in fine dining. Again. The food, our primary server and the overall dining area, (upstairs) was very good. Just can't give it 5's with these two clear points.More

Had dinner there last night- service was sub par- meal was undercooked, sent it back for more heat, came back over cooked and leather, hostess came over to see if it was ok and I told her it was fair and she said thank you...and walked away- Laughable. came out to be around $75/person. We sat on the second floor (so noisy we could barely talk to each other. will not go back- used to be one of my favorite restaurants.More

I had a very bad experience here many years ago with a steak and have avoided ordering steak. Today I ordered a barreled ??? rib eye. It was flavorless and the preparation did everyuthing possible to disguise the fact. The waiter and hostess were subpar,...but honestly I should have sent it back, but while eating with others it would have been awkward. I voiced my displeasure and expected it to be taken off our bill. Nope. Worst choice in many years of fine dining. I will return and avoid anything that resembles steak, they don't choose good cuts.More

Had a private party for 20 in the 3rd floor "Wine Room". Absolutely amazing from the first contact to the last detail. Super easy to work with for the booking and menu selection. Room is beautiful and set nicely. The bartenders always crush it, from...a simple drink to a craft cocktail. Butlered hors d'oeuvre (Kobe Sliders, Rare Tuna Skewers and more) let the guests know they were in for something special. Everyone raved about their entrees, with the steaks, lobster Thermador and crab cakes being standouts. Thanks to the entire staff!More

I was there in January it was more casual, jeans and a nice shirt. Some people were more dressed but but nothing over the top and I don't believe the restaurant has a strict dress code. I'd say business casual at a minimum.
