I have always enjoyed their burgers and fries. Shakes are also good. It is a must stop if a road trip takes me in that direction.

I'd describe Blake's as a low-budget Stake-N-Shake but they delivered on my green chili burger expectations! It had sufficient heat and was not greasy. I had their vanilla shake to complement it, a bit too sweet for my taste but refreshing. Kudos to the manager...on duty who was very friendly and kept the place hopping!More
I have long been a loyal Blakes customer, but since the remodeling, I have been very disappointed. we visited Blakes today for the last time. Ever since the remodeling they server cold hamburgers. I don't appreciate a cold burger especially at the high prices they...charge. I'm done!More
I normally go to Blakes two or three times a week for a breakfast burrito. I went this morning and did an online order getting my usual, a green chile burrito with bacon. When I got to Blakes, the worker at the front desk was...texting on her phone, and I politely waited there for around two minutes until she acknowledged me. She gave me my food, and when I started to eat, I realized that they did not add the green chile to my burrito. When I brought it to her attention, she rolled her eyes and said, "What do you want me to do about it? I can't take it back" and then when I asked her if she can redo the burrito, she took it, no words exchanged, and told the cook "Apparently it doesn't have any sauce, I don't know" and did a big sigh. The cook was very nice, but the lady up front was rolling her eyes multiple times, on her phone, and was very RUDE!!!!!!!!!!More
I used to live in Alamogordo and always liked the burgers here. It’s been a while though and I’d forgotten the name. I tried both In-n-Out and Whattaburger hoping for a good burger, but was always disappointed. When in Alamogordo I found it again and...realized I had the name wrong. Amazing burger and fries! We got the basic Lotaburger with added green chilies. My husband also got a fish sandwich. We both loved our sandwiches and the fries. The burgers were big, but the large size French fry seemed more like a medium. The only reason I dropped a point was the Diet Pepsi from the fountain seemed flat. I should have mentioned it to them, but didn’t.More
New Mexico's version of In-n'-Out Burgers- cooked fresh to order with our LUSCIOUS green chile. Breakfast burritos are to die for- don't come to New Mexico without a stop at Blakes!
No complaints with the food part. But the service staff ignored the outside pickup window. What's the point of having it then?
Paid for a double lota burger got a single burger Patty that was not edible as you can see from the pictures below. Won't being back there ever again. How dare you Lotaburger in this day and age cheat people in the economic hard times...people are having. You always see the "OWNER" respond glad this came to me and not a hungry child. As I will be filing a formal complaint with the health department and taking the burger to them.More
First time I visited, no one knew how to work the machines both machines were down unable to operate. The next day I went in to give them a second chance the lady was on the phone taking phone orders ignored everybody in line waited...5 minutes would even address who was in line. I will never eat at this place again the worst Blake's in New MexicoMore
I go to Blakes every time I am in Alamogordo, usually once every 2 years or so, and they have the best burgers! Old time style and the quality is always great. The burgers this time were a little smaller, but the same great taste...and the price isn't bad. $3.89 for a regular burger. But then add some cheese and green chilies and and you have a great burger! Really good milk shakes too. Normally pretty busy around meal times and its not a big place. But its worth waiting.More
Ordered a green chili cheeseburger - no green chili and rec'd cold, d ordered seasoned fries and rec'd cold unseasoned fries from cold employee. Won't go back
I always stopped here years ago on my fishing trip. So when I visited old friends I had to stop. The hamburgers are outstanding. The fries are crispy on tje outside and soft inside and the milkshakes are fabulous.
I placed my order online to save time inside. I was given a time to pick up my order so I sat in my vehicle until that time. I walked in and got in line so I wasn’t rude. There were at least 7-8 people...inside. A woman who I assume is the manager came from back area and started yelling for people who place their order to go outside. She then said in an aggressive tone “only 5 people can be in here at once” A couple of the customers walked outside and she walked back to the back area. My order was not ready so I asked how much longer and the person on the register said “a while”. I stepped outside and it was to cold so I went to my car for a few minutes. I walked back in and there was still at least 8 people inside. I walked to the counter because there was a line to order. No one helped me. I noticed a young man packaging bags and putting them under the counter near the cashier. So I asked him by chance if he already packed my order. I gave him my name and he said about another 15-20 minutes. I stepped outside again but because of the cold weather decided to sit in the vehicle again. I waited and again went back in to check on my order. I asked the person packaging again and he said it’s still not ready. I said ok this is ridiculous and the manager person (I’m assuming she was manager because she had a different shirt) came from the back again and said very aggressively to me “we have a lot of other customers”. I said I understand but I ordered on line and I was given a time for pick up. And she replied “we have other people than you to take care of”. There was no way to know when my order was ready besides going in and out to check. Then when I finally got our food it was cold. I travel through here all the time and this has been our favorite spot for years. I will not go back or recommend this place again. Learn some customers service skills. And if you were supposed to only have 5 people in at once why isn’t someone monitoring this or if your going to make customers wait outside put heaters out.More
We have eaten there several times and never regretted it. The service is awesome and always super friendly. Order always as ordered and quality ingredients!
You just can't get a Lotaburger experience outside New Mexico (well there are a few in Arizona, but they're not the same).Being from New Mexico, I was raised on Lotaburgers. And can't wait to get more when I come back. Here in Alamogordo, we ate...at the Lotaburger twice. The place is classic Lotaburger. An order desk and a long counter to eat at. No inside tables. And they're slooooow. But that's OK since it is all from scratch. For dinner we got Itsaburgers (with green chile, of course) and onion rings. The chile had the right amount of 'zing'. And the onion rings were crispy and tasty. Oh, and love the catsup pour and dip container. Have never seen one elsewhere. We came back for their breakfast burrito. Now, cooking burritos isn't entertainment. But watching the cook was actually entertaining. He was a pro working the grill and making a host of burritos. Good burrito. So, we'll come back. If not in Alamogordo some New Mexico place.More
