REAL Cheese! REAL Bread! All the food here is excellent. Definitely a cut about the rest around here. My "go-to" restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Ok this place has a cute rooftop and they have a huge menu which will make white people very happy but it is a big ripoff. The service is the worst and takes forever. Do yourself a favor and go to the restaurant just in front. They are super nice and serve really good food and you will encourage an... More

We had two tours with Shiva from Brown Bread Bakery. We really liked the guide, Shiva, as he was very friendly, genuine and knowledgeable about Varanasi. We initially had arranged for one tour but we liked it so much that we booked a boat tour too. We would highly recommend their tours!

Forget about fast brekkie and up in the streets, once here you wouldn't leave that soon. Not just because of the relaxing atmosphere on the rooftop - everything takes time here. Omelette 30 mins, mango lassi even longer. The couple next to me got their order mixed up and confused. But it's India, who would care?

I really want to like this place, as it contributes profits to a local school. However the service is extremely poor - long waits for food, wrong orders when it does arrive and a disinterested attitude. What a shame.

If you want an air-conditioned reprieve from the bustle of the street and a solid hit of all your European favorites, then this is the place for you. For us this wasn't the ambience we wanted or the food that we were craving. Part of the profits go to the Learn for Life School and so the experience was worthwhile... More

The service here was incredibly slow it took 50 minutes to get served and we only ordered a cheese plate and drinks. There is no view from the rooftop and it was teeming with trendy tour groups.

We ate on the rooftop which was interesting. There is no view and it is a few flights up. The food is delivered from below via a dumbwaiter system. There were monkeys outside the screens. The food was very good. Profits go to a school supported by the restaurant.

I waited an hour and a half for a sandwich. Literally. I had to remind them three times, got no apology or discount and it was nothing special when it arrived.

This place makes decent western dishes when you crave a taste of home. We went there 3 times and the waiters managed to get our orders wrong on all three occasions. We also had to wait nearly 1 hour for food every time. The food however is tasty and the prices are low. It's up to you decide if you... More

Brown Bread Bakery and Organic Food P.Ltd is the very first organic bakery with restaurant in India with branches in Varanasi and Delhi. Since 2015 we started also a Vegan restaurant Varanasi. The company supports the projects of Learn for Life by using the profits for funding the school and to provide fair working conditions for all the staff. We use as many organic ingredients as possible for our products. All our bakery items are made from different kinds of organic grains which are always grinded freshly. The grains, the rice and the lentils are produced by certified small farmers which we visit and check regularly.
