A tasty rawon with melt in your mouth beef and nicely cooked salted egg. ...since i dont really eat hot food I'd probably missed out the "setan" part.

Rawon is one of the popular local cuisine in Surabaya and East Java. It is basically the beef soup with dark colour. The place was small and simple, no air-condition. The rawon taste was very good.

Went there around 11pm for supper. The place looked small and there were a lot of people. But managed to find an empty spot. Never been here before and orderd the Rawon campur which the waiter said a good choice for beginners. It didn't disappoint.

Rawon being one of the more popular culinary dishes of Indonesia is being served at many places in Jakarta. However, the rawon is Surabaya is a delight to sink you teeth into. The flavours are so rich and fragrant and when coupled with warm rice is to die for.

The price is too expensive, the taste is okay, the meat is soft, easy to chew, but the service is bad, the waiter only less than 5 with lots of table, and there's only payment cash, no Debit

Rawon Setan is not the best rawon I've eaten so far. It's good but not the best. the service is very fast and open very late at night so if you are really hungry you can eat here.

Several times visits this restaurant with business colleagues and friends from out of town, all pleased with the taste quality and also portion of the black soup/rawon. Need to improve the hygiene and cleanliness of the place. But at the end this is a superb rawon you can't missed especially if you are a tourist

a very authentic exotic Indonesian dish. The soup is really good and spicy. Interesting way of cooking beef internals! A very busy restaurant but the staff were all attentive. Good place to experience exotic food in Surabaya.

What makes this rawon setan delicious are the hot soup and its "empuk" beef. The restaurant will provide you a set of "lauk" which worth to try

"Rawon Setan" is a place that many locals call it "durung nang suroboyo nek durung mangan rawon setan" or in English means (not translation) "you can't say you were already travelling around surabaya if you didn't eat rawon setan there". The name of the owner is Endang. You may find the other rawon setan with different owner arround Indonesia, but the original one is here in Embong Malang street. The name 'setan' or devil is given in many different reasons. One say it is because the restaurant only open from 23pm, while the other one say it is because when you eat this rawon along with its chilli your stomach will be "kesetanan" (the translate of 'kesetanan' is possessed by the devil, but in this case, the meaning is suffering from hot spices). Many information are provide now in internet, and even the recent president of Indonesia have already invite the owner of this restaurant to make a serving in 'Istana Negara' along with other unique Indonesian's culinary when celebrated an independence day of Indonesia.
