Pa Yang is a must-try Thai restaurant if you're in Hat Yai. Located near Tesco Lotus, it's a short drive from the city center. The dishes are truly authentic Southern Thai, and they've come a long way since I first patronized the eatery over 15 years ago. Not only has the decor changed from a mosquito-infested-outdoor jungle to an elegant, comfortable setting, the food too has evolved to a higher level of gastronomic delight...at affordable prices. Reading some of the negative reviews made me wonder if the reviewers went to the wrong restaurant or posted their review in the wrong venue. I approached Pa Yang with caution and in anticipation of being slaughtered at tourists' prices, but the bill turned out to be even less expensive than restaurants which could not even meet half of their standards. The value for money menu consisted of local dishes and fresh seafood with sea prawns/shrimps twice the size of other restaurants. This certainly gives it an edge over the competition, and you'll leave the place satisfied and wanting to go back for more culinary pleasure.

We came to this restaurant and were certainly pleased with the ambience of the place upon entering. It was decked with photos and decorations befitting a five star restaurant. We were rather anxious and at the same excited waiting to savour the dishes. When it arrived, we told ourselves we had made the right choice in choosing this place. The authenticity of the dishes and plating made us drool. Well, they were delicious, needless to say. We ordered dried seafood omelette, fried petai with prawns, mango salad with deep-fried crispy fish, prawn tomyam soup, green chicken curry and fried kailan with kiam bak (roasted pork fried Chinese kale). Total cost for seven pax: 2105 baht (~ RM 260). Rating 5/5

I have patronized this fine diner since 1995.The setting in a rubber estate years back was surreal. The food served is superb especially the pig trotter, green curry chicken, seafood omelet, khiam suen(not for less adventurous...really kicks)assorted mango salad, tomyam koon, curry fried prawns, dessert and others.i really miss the Sambal belachan sauce.on my last visit on Mac 2016,Joy presented me a few tins of it for free.Woody n Joy are wonderful hosts.I go to Payang or "Rubber Estate in Thai" at twice a year n the standard of food served is still so authentic and delicious. You must try to know what I am talking about.frm Malaysia with thanks.

Foods were incredible delicious, with the warm welcome like family. And the quality ingredients. Fresh and taste great! Expecially Yellow curry with fish and Big prawns in the tamarind sauce. I recommend you to try for the real of southern foods...it might spicy, but that is the taste of the south!

This is a new location for few years already. Food is very authentic . couple of years back where this shop was in another location whence not much of foreigners & tourist visiting. It was situated at the same road just a few shop lots before. The eating place was actually at a rubber estate land. You need to walk in to the shop, goes up to 1st floor and walk behind. Hey presto, the cleared area of the rubber estate is just right in front. It can seated about 100 paxs with a stage infront . The food is exceptionally spicy especially the kengsom pla chon (best eaten as plan neung mai thod). The soy sauce fried prawns was another stunning taste. I love best is the pla du thod kumming. very good. of course , they have young coconut to serve mild down the spiciness. not forgetting the thod mun koong & pla.

For me the luxury of food is not important. But my first choice is delicious. I know this restaurant from the locals in the area, they advise you that I came here to impress me and my friends have tried the food is really tasty. But the trip to the restaurant, as it seemed to us. Since we were staying in downtown hotels. But that's okay, it's worth the trip. When they finished eating, we went shopping at Patong Beach at night.

One of the local recommended thai food restaurant, food served are delicious & comes in big portion, especially the pork knuckle, which we unable to finish even half of it. Environment is pretty cozy & comfortable for dine-in. Suitable for big group and family, high quality food worth the price. I would revisit this restaurant again!
