The Secret Garden was a delight. Tucked away with a spacious garden atmosphere it maintained an excellent standard of both food and service on the 4 occasions we visited. No hard sale here just good food and good manners.

I literally walked down a tiny alley to get away from the crowds, past family homes and stumbled into the Secret Garden. What a find! Beautiful setting, quiet, relaxing and great food. We had only a limited time to eat here but what we had was delicious and made from scratch when we ordered. We would have loved to stay... More

At the Secret Garden, you will find an extensive menu and zen courtyard scenery. They do advertise a nightly local guitarist, but if this is the draw for you, call ahead to be sure the performance is not cancelled. If you're looking for the local experience away from tourists, then do some more research. However, after reading others' reviews, I... More

Dear Marissahilde, We are indeed touched by having your kind words. As anyone who works in service industry, we savvy that to please every single customer is really a big challenge. Not only by some subjective reasons from foods or service, the culture gap is a certain obstacle for comprehension. That makes us sometimes being stuck in troubles as you... More

We enjoyed three meals here during our stay. We loved the food, the ambience and the friendly staff. It's a quiet oasis away from shop keepers and traffic. We also did the cooking class and enjoyed this very much. Can't wait to come again. A five star experience!

Dear Mrs.Anne, We would like to thank you so much for your nice world. Although the weather didnot support, we indeed had nice time together, didn't we?! And most of all, your satisfaction is really much more than a big present for us. It's not about how many cooking tips you have gotten that day. It's your pleasure of integrating... More

Very attractive setting lovely ambiance. Food disappointing. Flat and bland e.g. Tom Yum soup not sour at all not enough spices. Get the feeling they are churning out for Western tastes. Touristy. Very good live music classical guitar.

Dear Mr.Beam, We are so sorry to disappoint you by just a plate of tomyam soup. You are right that our tomyam leans to being slightly sour and not much pungent as original Thai food. Please, Mr.BEAM! We are doing Vietnamese culinary art, not Thai. Every single gastronome knows Vietnamese cuisine does not have much acrid condiment as Thai does.... More

Came on the recommendation of a local cafe owner who told us the beef curry was fantastic. I was a little disappointed as the curry was really bland. My friend had a great red hot pork dish though so I think I just ordered the wrong thing, sure most other stuff was good. Beautiful surroundings and great service, staff super... More

Dear Rowan R, First of all, we would like to remind you about the formulation of our "BEEF CURRY" which is represented precisely in Secret Garden's menu: "Over the time, curry has been more familiar with the taste of Vietnamese people. Not too acrid or aromatic as Indian taste,....". From your other review for the curry of an INDIAN restaurant... More

You pay more because it's in a beautiful surrounding. But it is definitely worth it to be away from the hustle and bustle. Really lovely staff. Good food and drinks. Definitely would recommend.

That's a real secret and relaxing garden far from the busy streets where you can have really tasty vietnamese dishes reasonably priced. The service was very nice and attentive. We also got a small nice gift at the end :-) It's a real hidden gem, so consider it for your culinary experience in Hoi An.

A little tricky to find up a lane way in the heart of town - but everyone knows it if you ask. The garden setting is tranquil and beautiful. We went there twice on our stay in Hoi An. The food was superb and the service excellent and very friendly - not all staff speak good English but somebody who... More

Major challenge to book a table with my "Western" name - they couldn't spell it correctly even after 4 tries. We found this restaurant eventually down a back alley - not a disadvantage though as that meant it was lovely and quiet away from the scooter noise. Service was acceptable and the food was great - although priced for the... More

Dear Reutunes, Thanks so much for your nice review. We do agree that communication skill cannot be kept apart from the whole service of a fine dining place. Must confess that we still have some staffs who are in training process. I personally feel sorry for their lack of English speaking skill that made you annoyed. We do hope they... More
