After eating two dinners in the Old Town at highly recommended places which were noisy, tasty and definitely not cheap, we decided to eat at Mr. Son's - especially because we were staying on this side of the river and really weren't in the mood for fighting the tourist overload in the Old Town again. I'm so sorry we didn't... More

This is a quick stop place so perfect for lunch. You have to run the gauntlet of all the other restaurants from the bridge all the way around the corner to the row of seemingly similar little places. Note that the restaurant has moved from where it was in the Rough Guide - it is further along and around but... More

Amazing Vietnamese specialities. I read about this restaurant on Tripadvisor and we decided to give it a try. My only regret is that I didn't have time to come back to eat one more time before departing into the next city. I totally recommend this place. Don't expect some fancy siting but believe me the food is amazing and I... More

I came here for dinner based on a local's recommendation. There is a set menu of Hoi An specialty dishes for less than $10USD (spring roll, white rose, cau lau and wonton). Fabulous food and very friendly owner. My only warning, and this has nothing to do with Mr Son specifically, but spend the extra dong and avoid the cheep... More

This place is kinda hidden but the food is incredible. Everyone from our group literally ordered 2 meals each. Cao lau of course was really good and the beer was cheap. The owners were also super friendly so overall was a great spot that we kept on going back to.

Eating at this place is a true pleasure. You can enjoy amazing street food for a very low price. By far it was the best food experience in Hoi An.

According to the reviews we had high hopes and Mr Son and his cook didn't disappoint us. It was so good we returned the next day! Never had a better Wonton soup. But everything we had was superb and Mr Son was very friendly. We've been in Vietnam now for 2 weeks and we enjoy the delicious food here and... More

This is a super local place with different vendors owning their own table/bench. Our guide took us there to experience the local cuisine and it was wonderful. We had crab with tamarind sauce, prawns with garlic, white rose (dumpling with minced pork), deep dried wonton (but served like pizza), pho (traditional vietnamese beef rice noodles), pineapple cake, drinks....for 3 people... We were taken to this restaurant for lunch whilst on a day tour of Hoi An. It was so good that we went back the following evening. The food was very tasty and unbelievably cheap £25 for 4 people including drinks. Mr Son and his staff were very welcoming and I would definitely recommend this as a place to experience... More

We ate there twice on our recent trip to Hoi An. Just over the bridge from Old Town Hoi An, there are a line of open air tables and kitchen areas that different hosts use to cook and serve their food. On one you will find Mr Son and his wife who prepare and serve all the food themselves. The... More
