My daughter had a yearning for Italian food in Japan and found The Cottage through TripAdvisor. We weren't disappointed. The food was beautifully and freshly made in the tiny kitchen cum bar area in front of us. Heaven only knows how chef Tony and wife MoMo do it. We had really tasty fresh tagliatelle, salad and a fennel pizza with... More

Food was pretty good quality. Catering for vegetarian is a big plus. Not great value considering quite high cost and smallish portion sizes. Small and cosy inside, except was very cold. Welcoming husband and wife duo, he the cook and she doing everything else. All seemed a little manic though.

Gordon Ramsey always recommends restaurants shorten their menu and use fresh ingredients and that is exactly what this husband and wife team have perfected so well. Indeed when we popped in at lunchtime to book a table we saw the pasta being freshly prepared.... More

Nice and tasty pizza - crunchy and thin just a little bit smaller than in Europe. Nevertheless a nice dinner and a very friendly host!

Stumbled across it by chance for a quick Irish coffee but ended up staying all night. Incredibly cosy and wonderful owners!

Came here after looking at top area restaurants on TripAdvisor. Wanted something non Japanese during the trip. The restaurant is a cute little hole in the wall owned by a super friendly couple, Momo and her husband Tony the chef. The food is Italian Irish mix. I had the vegetable lasagna and my boyfriend had beef stew. The wine they... More

Every trip to Kanazawa I make the trip to The Cottage. Excellent food always. When you want a good home cooked meal with no rice or chopsticks, this is a good place to go.

So after the raving on tripadvisor I thought I would bring our family of 4 to the restaurant, looking forward to a break from Japanese food and some good company. So our experience, we came in and were the only ones there at about 6.30-7 PM. so not a great start. As others have said the menu was limited but... More
