Traditional sushi in Kanazawa are wonderful but wonderfully expensive. This place is great place to eat sushi and not get indigestion at the check. Staff very friendly and sushi masters excellent. I thoroughly recommend it.
This restaurant was easy to find in train station and had good reviews. However, having been traveling throughout Japan for three weeks, I found the sushi here OK but not as good as other places. And, was quite expensive. Only one piece of sushi for...between 250 and 500 yen. A lot more expensive than my experience in other citiesMore
This restaurant has high quality and extremely fresh sushi. The chef are professional and they will explain to you which one you can dip with soy sauce and which one you can just eat without soy sauce. Price is a lil bit steep but for...such delicious sushi, I would say it’s worth it.More
I'm not a Sushi expert but I have eaten sushi in quite a few places. This was a first in Japan. By far and away the best sushi experience ever.
Only a small establishment in the huge Kanasawa station complex but delightful and friendly. Unfortunately...we don't have too much Japanese but no matter as a lot of the people here speak English, a real bonus for us.
Thank you Maimon SushiMore
On our second attempt to eat here we got a seat after about 15 minutes waiting in line - on our previous attempt the line was a lot longer, so we figured that the trick was to eat earlier or later - either way the...line did move quite quickly as food is delivered fast, and the Japanese don't generally linger over meals.
Sitting at the counter watching your meal being prepared is always entertaining, and as one chef spoke quite good English we had no trouble ordering. Everything we tried was very good and the staff were friendly despite working non stop - this is a busy place, probably a testament to the quality of the food.More
It’s a small restaurant located at one end of the building together with other restaurants. Shop number 71 if my memory is good enough. There are only about 10-12 counter seats so if you are in a big group, you might need to split up....There are set menu and ala carte ones so if you are like be who cannot tell which fish you want, just go for the set. A set of 7 premium sushi is ¥2000 before tax or if you get the set of 9 regular sushi with hand roll and an egg roll, the cost is ¥2300. Best part if that the sushi is fresh, the chef and waitress speaks English and there is English menu. Can’t ask for more.More
We stopped in after a long day of touring in Japan. The location is great, right inside the JR train station. It can be a little confusing to find as there are many restaurants in the train station. The sushi is very fresh. My favorite...was the blackthroat seaperch, something the area is known for. The chef and staff are all very helpful and speak English. There is also an English menu. All in all, Kanazawa Maimon Sushi was great.More
The chef is very friendly and speaks English well enough to help us with the ordering. we went twice once for dinner and second time for lunch. both times we have different set. these were recommended by the chef and were good choices. the price...may seem slightly higher than others but the portion here are bigger. the miso soup with pieces of the fish bones were great. the dinner set of 3000 yen comes with grilled eel which was very tasty. we have 2 meals there over our 3 days in kanazawa.
this place is located on the ground within the food section of the railway station; towards the end portion.More
