This restaurant specializes in beef. We had a table next to the window overlooking the river. It was quite nice. The overall ambiance is quite pleasing. I had yakiniku (cooked at my table). The plate consisted of three small brick shaped portions of wagyu, three portions of a lesser grade, and some chicken. A slice of carrot, a quarter onion,... More

This was our repeated visit to Hakata Sagabeef Kira, and it was as good as the first time. Our hotel helped us make the reservation. We enjoyed not only the food but also the coziness and privacy of our partitioned dining area by the window overkooking the canal. We had yakiniku set at JPY7,500, and added JPY500 to change plain... We tried Hida beef in Takayama last year in May, and Kobe beef recently....and now Saga beef, which is comparably yummy. And Kira Hakata in Fukuoka does a masterful job in presenting it. Tried it as Shabu Shabu as well as Teppanyaki; both melt in your mouth. Suffice it to say the price point is high, as always is with... More

Found this place by chance on the internet and it is one of the very best Saga beef I've ever tried. The 2nd floor has Tatami rooms where you cook your own beef. Try different cuts of Saga beef, they are really excellent. Not many drinks to choose on their list... Some great views over the river

We were in Fukuoka and wanted to try the Saga beef. The hotel concierge recommended Hakata Kira. We reserved our table or dinner and we were not disappointed. Both food and service were really good. The beef was very tasty and melt in your mouth. Dinner was quite expensive. We found out later that their lunch menu is a lot... More

When reading this review, please bear in mind that, although I (a westerner) have enjoyed Japanese food (including teppanyaki) for twenty-five years or more, this was the first meal I had eaten in Japan itself, on the first day of a vacation, and we were celebrating a birthday. And I'm definitely not a foodie. This was without doubt the best... More

We had teppanyaki dinner here. The beef was tender and tasty. The portion of the food was just right so we could enjoy all the dishes without being too full. The restaurant was quiet with good ambience. They have an English speaking staff explaining each dish to us who was very attentive.

Love the food, love the service. We didn't make a booking. And we're lucky to get the last table even though we went there around 6:45 pm. We ordered this combination of beef for 2 persons and 2 rice, plus 2 beer. We were so full. And the price was around 20000 yen. The staff speaks little English. But they... More

We r a family of 4 adults plus one baby and we visited the beef barbeque section on 2/F. The restaurant is very clean and cozy, the environment is what u expect in a top japanese cuisine. Yet, there is nothing else we r pleased about. Firstly when we first entered the restaurant, the reception(who looks like the manager) seemed... More

My relatives decided to surprise me by taking me out for a teppanyaki lunch at Kira. Unfortunately, they didn't make reservations and all of seats at the teppanyaki grills and the yakiniku tables were full, so we ended up with a choice of either shabu shabu or seiromushi. We went for one of the deluxe shabu shabu courses, which of... More
