Had heard a lot about this restaurant and so was looking forward to a special evening. No atmosphere, boring menu, lacklustre wine list. Very disappointing - and expensive.

There are not a lot of places a la francais in Almaty, nevertheless I would say that it's more expensive than it's worth, they like french-fries, I expected to see more salad in my plate.
We sat outdoor so kalian didn't bother me that much, but hey...this is french restaurant, so let's have french standards!! Being one if not only French restaurant in the city, food quality could be better. Menu options are average. Portions are small.
Interesting menu, but really uneven (some dishes are really good, such as the home-made pate with home-made bread, but others are disappointing). Also, the service was really not good enough.
I like the food here and have always had a great time. The decor is a bit "not French". Staff are friendly, speak enough English and the chef is always around to keep the guests happy. Reasonably priced also

A real French chef. The food is remarkable, the atmosphere very nice, a kind of frenchie based international fusion animated by the local French expat community, definitely a change from the local culture. Don't miss The Frog!
