I’ve been here twice during my recent visit to JB. One of a decent breakfast place situated strategically in the heart of JB town. I simply love the hospitality and variety of dishes they serve here. It is far more better than most of the...Chinese breakfast available along the streets. (I loved their Signature Laksa - a must try item on their menu) Happy trying folks! ❤️More

Been there several times. Love the air-conditioned space and cleanliness, and used to love their dishes however my recent visit proved otherwise. Ordered a bowl of laksa. When it's served the uncle was holding the bowl with his hands and his right thumb dipped in...the soup from the brim, a common scene at hawker centres but when the habit was brought here I simply couldn't accept. They could have served all dishes on a tray, which is safer, more efficient, and cleaner. The beehoon soup was covered generously with spicy and unhealthy chili oil, which took me a while to scoop away. The soup is salty to my taste, and with the absence of cockles it kinda lacked authenticity. Ice kacang is pretty typical, a tad too sweet though. Hope the Movement Control could be over by the end of Aug 2020 as announced more than 2 months ago, it's affecting everyone's mood and patronage, ultimately the economy and livelihood.More

Laksa and few other dishes are good and reasonably priced given the quality of food and venue. Some are really mediocre eg. fish n chips. The fish is too little, chips too dry and the salted egg yolk sauce is not a good companion. For...Ice Kacang, the peanuts become hardened in ice. I suggest to grind the peanuts and sparkle over the ice, or do without peanuts at all. Staff lack interaction and true heart felt smile, sigh. Probably it's just another day to them.More

The restaurant is just across the famous Hiap Joo Bakery. It has air conditioning. We stopped here for a break to cool down after queuing for banana cake across the road. The cendol was tasty with fresh coconut milk and cendol. You should try that...if you are nearby. They also served a lot of local food.More

A place that one should go for local food. They have one of the best local coffee in town. The menu has a lot of variety. Prices are reasonable. I ordered lasi lemak with rendang. Rice was well cooked with coconut and pandan. The chicken...drumstick rendang was very delicious. I like the sambal chilli too. The otak toast was good, very generous with the otak. Mee hoon kuey came with a lot of ingredients and it’s value for money.More

Toast & Coffee is a traditional coffeeshop located opposite Hiap Joo Bakery & Biscuit Factory on the heritage street of Jln Tan Hiok Nee road. It is a nice place to have breakfast as it has a wide selection of food and also many Malaysian...local delights on its menu at affordable prices. Last week l came here for breakfast with two friends and l had mee rebus with egg. It was yummy especially the Mee rebus gravy. I visited the coffeeshop again on the recent Monday and ordered fried mee siam and chwee kueh plus coffee and soft boiled eggs. I shared the plate of mee siam with my friend. We enjoyed the mee siam, but the chwee kueh was not that great as the toppings (chai por) were rather salty. The coffeeshop was quite crowded on both mornings that l came. Fortunately service was fast and we did not have to wait too long for our food. Certainly , l would return for breakfast in my next Johore tripMore

Located in the Tan Hiok Nee cultutal street and frequented by tourists mostly. We had chee cheong fun which comes with tau kee pieces, otak-egg sandwich, chwee kueh which was a tad oily. Overall not bad and reasonable prices compared to the malls

Passed by this place a few times and the food looked very tempting and with a lot of people patronising it, decided to try it out. However, was disappointed with the quality of the food we ate. The service was good though.

My 2nd time here and my favourite food here is their mee robus with egg and Teh C. The mee robus sauce is really great. The yellow noodles was boiled before adding the sauce as it was served HOT. As for the Teh C, the...taste is perfect but prefer to have less sweet. Mee Robus @ RM5, Teh C @ RM2.20. As for the laska, i felt the taste was salty. It will be great if less salt is added to the soup. They mixed both clear and yellow noodles in the laska. Ingredients wise were good. Laska @ RM8.More

Visited this old Street for breakfast. It's pretty packed with tourist and the menu has lots of stuffs. Food is average but consider the price is low, it's really value for money. But parking is a pain, street is narrow and there are shopkeepers, visitors...that parked illegally along the narrow street. Spend 45mins going round and round and it's a very big challenge. End up parking in a nearby mall called Kotoraya. If u want local authentic breakfast, this is a good place to visit.More

Super lovely local food. Suitable for all day dining. Efficient and friendly service, clean environment, air-con. Food was served pipping hot, fast and accurately. Gets crowded very fast. Spacious sitting place for about 40 to 50 pax. The food is the main draw. Taste local,...excellently yummy and addictive. Wide menu range. Must visit cafe/restaurant when in Johor Bahru.More
