My family turned up at Caffè Diem after a long drive on the way to Kuala Perlis.
We are glad we chose Caffè Diem after reading the reviews on TA. It lived up to the reviews and more.
The coconut iced latte is possibly the...best coffee drink I've ever had.
The food is delicious!
They've got every aspect spot on!
We loved our visit so much that we visited again the following week on our way back home. Even picked up a t shirt.
Definitely recommended if in Alor Setar or the local area.
They also have a bakery around the corner which we didn't try.
Top tip: try a coconut iced latte!More
We tried a few main course and deserts, everything was nice. Loved the iced Coconut Latte as it had nice touch of coconut and coffee. Poppy seed cake was light and nice on palate. The ambiance is nice cosy.
Having visited this cafe on a number of occasions, I always found the staff to be friendly and engaging but for some reason our orders were never delivered in a timely fashion as one would expect when visiting a cafe. Noticeable that there were more...staff on the floor than patrons at times but delivery of food and drink from the time the order is placed to when it is delivered is questionable......
We would wait for coffee for approx 15 minutes which is fine but food was always late. On two occasions we waited over forty five minutes before we decided to do take away's as we had other business to attend to. This was after numerous reminders to staff that we were waiting on food.
A nice cafe located in a prime location but very poor customer service.More
It is originally a colonial building that was restored into a trendy cafe. Majority of its patron are young people but it is also suitable for older crowd and family. The interior decoration is tastefully done. The walls have pictures of "who's who" who frequented...the cafe. It also has a room on the first floor that is dedicated in memory of Tunku Abdul Rahman. I also love the fact that there are some facts or history of the cafe and also facts about Tunku Abdul Rahman that were displayed on various parts of the walls at the cafe. Besides, I love it that the food is named in Malay and that gives the food a certain special feel about them. For example, instead of spaghetti carbonara, it is known as Mee Orang Puteh. What a clever idea! However, I feel that there are too many waiters there (though all of them are friendly which is also a plus point). A memorable cafe, I would sayMore
So far we could see there was not so much changed since our last visit twoo years ago. The cafe looks cosy and trendy, the terrace is a nice place to sit for a little meal, snack or a coffee. The coffee is nice, other...compositions such as a Thai tea, cheese cake with blue berries and watermelon drink didn't reach at all the level we hoped for. The Thai tea was far to milky and sweet, the cheescake to dry and contained not enough blue berries. The prices are very high for Alor Setar and there are too many but friendly waiters. The restaurant serves also burgers with fries. We will not come back here, it doesn't reach our standard but young people seems to appreciate the place.More
I couldn't imgaine that the place could be nice as it is.. And also the. Quality of food... It higher than expected.. Prices are average.. Sure every time i will visit alor setar.. Will pass by this place
We were all amazed at how fantastic this building looks. The frame itself is in fine condition & the original staircases are super. The wood looks fantastic. Decor consisting of pictures including many of Dr. Mahathir are wonderfully arranged & clearly add to the overall...ambiance. Easy to see why this coffee shop & restaurant earned the World's Best Heritage Building. It really is in great condition & it's obvious much work has got them to this point. Cappuccinos & a Macha Lemonade were great & efficiently served. We'll stop in again should the opportunity present itself.More
