We stayed at the Ritz Carlton for 10 nights in February/March this year.
We ate at the very good Chinese restaurant for the first 2 nights before it closed for refurbishment. We also ate at a local Chinese restaurant twice which was also good.
We spent the remaining 6 nights at Langkawi kitchen where we enjoyed excellent food and service. The staff went out of their way to serve food we really enjoyed, including some extra Chinese dishes. The wine was also good and reasonably priced.

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each morning at the Langkawi Kitchen and we also ate there one evening and did a cookery lesson there. The service of every single member of staff from junior to senior was outstanding and everyone took pride in their job. All the staff were so professional, knowledgeable, smiling and charming. If we wanted a slight variation, it wasn’t a problem. Dane, one of the management team, was particularly engaging and friendly and we appreciated her coming to talk to us every day. The food was delicious with a wide range from which to choose. The cookery course was great fun with a charming chef who talked us through the various stages to produce the perfect Malaysian 3-course lunch. The setting was stunning and beautifully decorated. We loved spotting the wildlife each morning. What a great way to start the day!

Let me just cut it short, the breakfast served was great. They have their own twist of oatmeal which is 'Gula Melaka Porridge' (recommended by Dane Mateo). It was great. Dane Mateo came to me on the first morning to ask how's everything, is there anything she could get to me and instantly she made me felt welcomed.
I'm not gonna tell about the whole check-in experience because it was frustrating. Plus, the bald and skinny caucasian manager wearing an outfit like a cult member in Midsommar movie was so choosy on which guest he would like to pay a visit asking how's the experience/your day. He only pays visits to foreigner tables only. If you look like Malaysian he will skip your table as if you stay at the property for free. For 4 mornings straight! He only greeted caucasian couple/family next to my table and just walked away as if I wasn't there. Double standard! The whole situation really made me feel unwelcomed. Only Dane and some of the restaurant crews changed the whole situation and made my day.

We ordered the grilled seafood platter and a mixed vegetables and kid's meal at the restaurant and the seafood was really fresh and delicious. The staff was so kind to offer our kids milkshakes to end the meal on a sweet note. Love.

I've been to the Ramadhan buffet at Langkawi Kitchen twice now in the past 2 weeks. Really great restaurant with super friendly staff. The food selection is really good, and what I like most is how fresh the food is. They don't put a lot of food out at once and they top it up everytime so it's hot and fresh. Less wasteage this way, kudos! I made my reservation with Alif and he was super accomodating with our requests. Afa made some really great drinks for us too, and Chef Wildan and Chef Shukor are super friendly and happy to explain what food they had on display. Lily and Suhayl were very cheery and helpful as well! Definitely going back again soon.

Buffet spreads were great. Lamb briyani was really really nice. Chef given generous portion everytime we went for top up. Social distance practicing well. All foods are partitioned by glass panel.1 dish per chef on standby at the buffet line to serve us. Condiments of dishes were generous. Attentive service despite restaurant was full. Shout out of the night would be the authentic coffee/tea station - we had a "kartika" a green pandan coconut beverage recommended by "tea maker" Afa. Every tea of the night come with a story behind. Interesting! Dishes not to be missed - pandan rice, lamb briyani,tandoori chicken (omg soo good!!!), beef masala (very fragrant spices)! Cendol!

We came for drinks after watching the sunset at Horizon, we left one beautiful setting for another. We had a table inside, the restaurant really is beautifully presented, great choice of food and drinks. I had to ask for my drink twice which was a little frustrating, especially when my husbands was brought immediately. His starter was cold (chicken and beef skewers which were served on a hot grill however the flames had gone out hence the food served cold). I had tandoori chicken which was fabulous. We over ordered (as always), had two delicious curries with the best naan we have ever tasted. Far too much rice and a chapati which was a little hard and mostly ignored. On the whole we enjoyed the meal but a little disappointed with some parts of the evening. Reasonably priced though and all in all a great evening at a lovely hotel.

My family and I had breakfast everyday of our stay, at Langkawi Kitchen. All the staff were always warm, friendly and attentive. Their Teh Tarik is the best I have ever had. Langkawi Kitchen also included an A-la-Carte menu with breakfast. We especially loved their Pandan French Toast, Lobster Omelette and detox juices.
During our stay, we requested for their 'Malaysia Delicacies Cooking Class'! The Langkawi Kitchen crew setup the class very professionally. The class was instructed by Ms Nawwar Kayra (Jr Sous Chef) and Mr Benjamin (Pastry Chef). We were thought how to cook Kerabu Daun Kaduk, Light Prawn Curry & Pisang Bunjut. My family and I had an absolutely fun and entertaining time in the cooking class. We give our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Ms Nawwar and Mr Benjamin for giving us such wonderful memories of our vacation.
One of our nights was the National day of Malaysia. Langkawi Kitchen offered a special dinner-set menu. It featured many Malaysian flavors, spices and aromas. The dinner was delicious and it fed our souls.
My family and I are very, very grateful to the staff and chefs of Langkawi Kitchen, for making our vacation a sumptuous one.

Absolutely delicious!
The whole experience from start to finish was so welcoming, hospitable and just a lovely atmosphere!
This place is certainly on the more expensive side for food in Langkawi but this was expected and you defiantly get what you pay for.
The food portions were really big and the food was served hot, tasty and fresh.
The staff were really attentive.
Would love to come back!

Stayed 10 days at the ritz Carltonn and had breakfast here daily !
Terrible service. Staff very attentive but never communicate orders to chefs correctly! Vegan food coming with animal products on. All food drinks taking a long time and when chased up orders re submitted so then was getting same order 2/3/4 times
Reported to managers during stay!

Well to start with the good part from walking to the restaurant you are faced with beautiful nature , then greeted by beautiful hosts like Shuhada , Syaza , Ain , Afa , Suhayl and ascorting you in the beautiful traditional ambiance replicates the sarawakian long houses. When is came to the stations every single chef was interactive , social and knowledgeable in what they prepare and ready to go the extra mile to make your experience much better .. want to the the friendly attendants Izzat , Camille , Ira and especially Hamizi who made my day with the special drink prepared for me and it was beautiful your the best I was impressed by your skill ..
The down part especially the Ala carte menu is bland and and no flavor it's either too sweet or no taste at all ..

Came with my sister & nephews. They accommodate kids & Chef Khairul assisted the kids with chicken rice as it’s not spicy, very thoughtful! Armin the restaurant manager immediately change the kid’s cutlery when my nephew drop it. Swift response! Recommended!

I was trying to find the best word to describe the hospitality at Langkawi Kitchen and I have to say it is best for you to self experience as word doesn’t do the justice. The moment the reception greets you up to bringing you to each station explaining the food variety till you are seated comfortably is superb. Shout out to Syaza, Afa and Nikki for the dining experience, your attentiveness and thoughtfulness. Your service and the food complemented well. Thumbs up Langkawi kitchen!!

Lovely setting and so much choice of food! The a la carte menu is particularly outstanding - we really recommend the roti jalan and pandan French toast. The staff are very attentive, helpful and polite - we’ve loved coming for breakfast every morning. Also, they make an amazing espresso martini!
