Finally, we made it after the place being shut when we tried to reach it on the first visit and honestly I'm asking myself why. Food was extremely bland, we ordered tikka masala and chicken biryani, plus some naan bread. The food didn't come together and we were not told what food was placed first. I am a big fan... More

Undoubtedly cheap, but food was just average and not clean looking. Noodles almost inedible. Nasi kandar slightly better, but I would not recommend this restaurant.

We ordered two fried rice with chicken dishes and sweet lassi. The fried rice with chicken was OK in taste but the lassi was too sweet and you ended up just tasting the sugar. The fried rice with chicken came with egg in it (which was a surprise as the menu and the pictures did not show this). The cost... More

I had been there a couple of times during my stay in Pantai Cenang and I also bought some take away food. The waiters are a little bit different from what to expect but finally it is a canteen style restaurant where I never would expect to much service. The food always came quite fast and tasted nice. Very nice... More

On our 4 nights in Langkawi, we had breakfast 3 times here. Right next to the rice museum, restaurant almaz has fresh rotis sweet and savoury. My partner and I always have one savoury roti each and share a sweet one with a tea or coffee and the biggest bill came up to 15 RM. If youre looking for a... More

The organization is very bad especially when it gets busy but the food is very delicious. We ate the Nasi Kandar, Rotis and Nasi Lemak - all very good. The price are very low and it is good for breakfast!

Perfect spot for backpackers. Great food, cheap, big portions and friendly staff. Best roti, curries and vegeterian food.

The Almaz is an easy going eatery with good Indian curries, great roti chanai, naan bread and chapatti. The biryani rice is also recommendable. I love that place and sometimes I just go for a quick breakfast of roti chanai and dal. Perhaps a tea or kopi tarikh. Highly recommended for backpackers but also for a quick bite.

they scrimp on cost where they can, so order the basics. I had a watery carrot juice, my husband had a watery milo ais (iced milo). quite stingy: $5 roti telur with cheese (very little cheese). My basic paper thosai was good though-- sambal was nice and spicy, kuah (sauce) from the curry is good.

Very light on pocket. Good Indian food with some local variation. Butter naans were really very good.
