Although the reception was very friendly service was not. Food was quite fatty, and no salt available on the table. Ac was great- maybe a bit too much even. Place needs maintenance. OK place for drinks I guess, but they advertise themselves as restaurant.

Golden City gets 5 stars simply for the fact that you can get beer here. And not just Tiger! Had a Kilkenny and an Anchor, along with some cheesy bruschetta and chicken parm. Friendly staff, nice open environment, indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended!
Felt really comfortable here as soon as I came in so returned the next night and the next. Nice cold beer, really good service, friendly and great background music😊
We were only staying one night in Kota Bahru on our way back from the Perhentian Islands as we had an early morning flight back to KL then up to Krabi. The town itself is very traditionally Muslim and as such it is not riddled...with bars that serve alcohol and western style food . I actually found the Golden City on Google , organised a Grab car and we were there from our hotel in 15 minutes for about 10 RMD. Great beers on tap and by the bottle , very friendly staff , clean and well organised, a great night was had with good food and plenty of Tiger. The guy who runs the place even called a Grab for us, waited outside for it to arrive, instructed the driver in the local language the way to our hotel. Would highly recommended this place if you are looking for an oasis in what can be a desert for a westerner with a thirst.More
We loved it! The food was great and the beer menu made my husband happy. Normal European pub! We've been in Asja for 2 months and needed this European feeling. Pictures in here don't do the justice to the place.
The only restaurant in town to serve good food with alcohol and cozy environment. Happy hour from 4pm to 9pm! Satisfied and highly recommended!
I’ve just had dinner here, and the pork burger was delicious. It was fun to be in this city and find a little bit of the wesrern world.
Took some searching but we found the rare pub in Kota Baru. Guinness, Kilkenny, lagers, etc. Good service. Cold beers. Central location.
Excellent pub in Kota Baru! Good Happy hour prices from 5pm to 9pm. Draft Tiger 17rm and Guinness 24rm. About 20min walk from Pacific shopping centre.
An oasis for drinkers in KB. Besides a good happy hour, they also serve decent pub grub. Prices were reasonable.
I had dinner here. As far as i know its the only pub in kota baru and the only budget place where to have a beer. I had a pork steak with pepper sauce and a few veggies on the side. The presentation is quite...basic and the taste as well, but it does the trick. Very nice atmosphere inside, many happy customers chatting and laughing. The service is very kind. I would suggest to add some nice music.More
This seems the only bar in town and fortunately it is a good one. It has excellent background music. We ate here and were delighted with the quality
