Came early for a bowl of curry mee and coffee. Do come early to avoid the crowds. You can order food from Kong Heng next door too.

A fantastic place to get all my favourite breakfast options in a place. Do come early to avoid long waiting time.
This coffee shop offers several goumet hawkers that peddle great authentic Asian cooking from Ipoh. From the delicious soft hor fun noodles of the Kai See Hor Fun man to the Beef Brisket & Tripe Noodles lady to the smooth Chee Cheong Fun man to...the Pork & Offal Satay man, this place oozes 'flavor' everywhere you turn. Not to forget one can also order other dishes like Poppiah and fried noodles from next door (another coffee shop with more hawkers). To finish off, one must not forget the world famous caramel custard and washed down with a cup of hot Ipoh white coffee. Whenever I visit Ipoh, I try to eat here at least twice if I can!More
Oct2022. Very crowded and I had to wait sometime before I could get a table. I tried the Ipoh Kai Si Hor Fun (Hor Fun in soup) and I liked it. I really like this original Ipoh clearer-soup version. The taste & form is very...different from the sticky darker sauce type of "Ipoh Hor Fun" sold in Singapore. I also tried the custard pudding but found it to be nothing special. This visit brought back memories of the last time I visited this shop 20 years ago, but back then it was not crowded at all. The Soup Hor Fun was just as good back then. FrancisTLim.More
Had lunch here where we went in search of Ipoh Hor Fun, and am surprised it was a soup Kway Teow Version and not the dry type with a thicker sticky sauce we have in Singapore. Tastes alright but not wow, it was more like...a shredded chicken noodle soup dish. Satay was ordered from another stall in the same place. Both were really affordable though.More
If you are visiting this kopitiam, is a must to try out the white flat noodle (chee cheong fun), it is now operating by the 3rd generation. Definitely an authentic food you must give a try.
It's a classic kopitiam. I suggest finding a table before 9 a.m., then ordering noodles (kasi hor fun) at the front because they take the longest. Get a kopi and a few skewers of pork satay (hard to find elsewhere!) while you wait. Maybe a...soft, fresh spring roll in plum or date sauce. Conclude with a custard. Go home and take a nap. You have conquered Ipoh.More
Superb Egg Custard(creme caramel)!! It's so yummy!!!!! Service is very fast. I would love to go back for more egg custard!! The popia and the ipoh hor fun also yummy!!
I am a fan of hor fun so I have to try the famous Ipoh hor fun. It was very good at Thean Chun. The hor fun was silky smooth and the broth was tasty although a little oily. The additional plate of bean sprouts...helped to enhance the flavour.More
The popular chicken prawn hor fun’s quality has dropped, small bowl RM8, big bowl RM9. But the next stall beef noodle (in the same coffee shop) is nice. Wuyi tea egg is not common in other coffee shop, should try. Egg custard is so so,...similar to those selling in supermarket.More
This place is worth a visit. We arrived on a Monday at around 1030 am and managed to get a table immediately, though the place was getting crowded. Do try the custard caramel pudding made by the drink stall, as well as the pork and...chicken satay, which is full of flavour. They also sell satay intestines, if you are keen. At the front, there is a kai si hor fun store, though it was not the best we have had here. The yong tau fu stall was a better choice, especially the beef balls. Overall, a good place for a meal smack in the middle of old Ipoh, with Concubines and Murals streets just nearby.More
Best chicken broth noodle..."kai see hor fun" in town. Try weekdays...closed on wednesday n thursday. Weekends are super busy
Came here for brunch while on the way to Penang and enjoyed the food here. Very delicious and very nice. However the price for the food is very expensive for a small portion.
We went there on a public holiday (Raya Day 1) and the shop was already full by 10:30am. We had to que up for at least 45mins before being seated. Shockingly after standing in the que for so long and after being seated, once again...we were put off after being told that the Famous Hor fun (Koay Teow Soup) would take another 1hour. The drinks order also came wrong... Definitely not visiting this place again..! No restaurant should be worth it, if they are not sensitive to the paying customer.More
It is must to try this egg custard in Ipoh. It is seldom to find good egg custard but you can try this one. Go earlier as quite pack during weekend. Remember, they close every Thursday.
