Easily our best food experience while travelling through Malaysia for 4 weeks. The price/quality is astoundingly good. Both meat, fish and vegetables were awesome in both flavour and texture. We were one of the first few groups to walk in on a Sunday evening when the restaurant open for business at around 6 pm. Restaurant is big so not crowded at all. Waitress was helpful with recommending dishes suitable for elderlies as my mother...prefers softer food. Most expensive dish is the beef with button mushroom (RM68). We also had half the signature duck (RM45) and found the meat to be tender. Dessert wise, the avocado sago puree (RM12) was our favourite. They changed the red bean paste in the pancake (RM12) to lotus paste for mid-autumn festival. The crust was crispy and the lotus paste was not so sweet. Had a very filling dinner. If you are ever in Ipoh for a few days, do yourself a favor and check out this fine dining restaurant. It is one of my “3 must visit’ restaurant/cafe every time I visit my in laws in Ipoh. Food quality has been consistently outstanding...all these years since they were opened. Standard is very high, even by Malaysia elevated standards. It has the best version of the following dishes you can find in this town and perhaps even all of Malaysia in some instances: 1. Sweet and sour chicken (better than most pork version you can find) 2. Crispy Salted Egg Fried Prawns 3. Whole Steam Pearl Garoupa 4. Double boiled chicken soup The seafood Wah Tan Hor and Dim Sun are excellent as well. I am not a duck eater but I heard their lychee roast wood duck is top notch as well. During my recent 1 month trip in Ipoh, I must have visited this restaurant close to 10 times. That is testament to the quality considering all the competition. This is compliment by the impeccable 5 star service from the entire team. I am just surprised that this is not ranked #1 in all of Ipoh as I dare say I tried almost every restaurant in the current top 30 during the month.More

We ordered duck, beef stew. Duck was tasty and chewable. Beef was delicious with an aromatic flavour. The decor here is tasteful and it is never crowded. While prices are above average, they are still affordable. Service was decent and fast. We will be back.

We went for a late dinner on a weeknight around 8.45pm. A number of menu items were not available - 2 out of the 3 signature roast dishes were sold out, some dishes were replaced with others. Probably best to call in advance to ask...or go earlier to avoid disappointment. We had the signature smoked duck - which the minimum order is half a duck. And the sweet sour chicken which was good - there was a lot of meat instead of just batter. The booth seating on the right hand side are below noisy air conditioning vents. Service was okay. When I wanted to ask staff for chili sauce, their first reaction was “your next dish is coming” - as though they were used to being asked about slow service by other patrons. If you are looking for a quiet and nice atmosphere place for meals, this is a good non pork Chinese restaurant. Love the lychee duck as well as the fried siew mai dimsum. The best part is so nice for a celebration yet the price...is value for money for a nice meeting lunch.. my only reservation is to tea served... The smoked duck was so tender and juicy. The fried rice was tasty with lots of shrimp and crab in it. It was my birthday and as a surprise Angeline brought me one of their delicious mooncakes with a candle and sang me happy birthday....I was very impressed! Service was amazing and friendly.
