Had a quick bite at this popular open air street hawker food, experience was good, slightly cheaper than Long beach at Batu ferringhi. Assam laksa is good. Rojak average. Grilled squid was overpriced though. Verdict: worth a visit!

If you end up in the Gurney Drive area patronising Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon like us, this open-air hawker centre is your best bet at some local Penang eats. Gurney Drive Hawker Centre was a popular haunt for locals and visitors when we visited some 15 years ago. The atmosphere hasn't changed much but the prices have certainly escalated.... More

Low class, low quality food. Stinking hot, even at night. All the other hawker's have fans. Very cheap, but what good is cheap if you don't enjoy the food. Unfortunately, not worth a second visit, there are too many other good Hawker Centres to eat at.

Gurney Drive is a combination of luxury with Gurney Plaza shopping complex and the food court open every night on the foreshore. Gurney Plaza houses a range of shop from department store to a Rolex store but I found the in the basement there is a Clod Storage (where Malaysian do food shopping) and a huge range of food shops... One of my favorite Penang experiences. If you are tired of sterile hotel food, go there and try what sea/local food should taste like. It is all fresh and safe. I tried almost everything from Durian to squids and it was all delicious. The delivery may be crude but it is worth the experience. Cheap and tasty.

I was confused to decide what to eat because there are so many food stalls here. The snowflakes ice is so awesome. The best that I have ever tried. Other than that Rojak, Bbq meats and Sui Kiaw are pretty good. Kwetiauw is so so (under seasoning). The bad thing is finding seat. If you sit closed to a stall,... More

Not been to Gurney Drive for many years, since we were in Penang decided to check out the food here. We had Pasembor at a stall which had a large crowd, but were disappointed with the taste of the sauce that is served with the pasembor, then went to a cha kuey teow stall which also had a large crowd,... Nope, I can't recommend this hawker centre. You have to order, pay and than find a table, and I can promise you that's not an easy task. The food is not the best either so I can't say I recommend this place.

Was there twice.. Assam laksa still edible but the rest can forget it. Please don't go there searching for genuine Penang food. It's just a place living in past glory.
