Delicious as the food options in Georgetown are it is refreshing to have a change from Indian/Malay/Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai etc. The Two Franchise offers a limited but delicious option od some traditional French dishes such as Bouef Bourginoun, Mussels, Duck Confit, etc and yummy desserts such as creme caramel, chocolate mousse, creme brûlée. Affordable prices and attentive staff and pleasant surroundings make this an ideal dinner venue in a good location close to the port and Little India. To be recommended.

This tucked away fantastic bistro restaurant was a delight. From the moment we entered and were met by Diana (The Manager), the attention to our dining experience was excellent. The food, the service and the genuine friendliness could not be faulted. Pricey compared to some other eateries however in life you get what you pay for, and this restaurant was worth that little bit extra. Thank Diana and her staff.

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Penang. Once for dinner and once for lunch. The dinner was very good, however lunch let down a little by a dish that arrived different to its menu description. The quinoa bowl arrived with a load of banana sliced in the dish which was not mentioned in the menu. I challenged the waiter at the end and he said it was to replace the avocado which has run out, however this was even more odd as avocado was also not mentioned in this dish! Should have offered to take it off the bill or reduce the cost. Bit of a shame as otherwise the food was exceptional, great service albeit a little expensive for the area (still very cheap compared to western standards)! Recommended.

It took us long enough to go and dine at 'the best French restaurant in Penang'. I was hesitant to splurge that much in the street food paradise that is George Town, but a month themed 'Date Night Fridays' ultimately took us to 36, Lebuh Bishop. 'French Cooking From The Heart' - this is how she sells herself and I couldn't have chosen a better way to express the experience. It is not 'fine dining' restaurant; their portions are too generous to be burdened with such a tag. Two Frenchies will feed you well; even your bread basket, such a rare sight in restaurants in Asia, will be refilled upon request - with a smile (the service too had heart). I imagine Hemingway would have liked this place; the wine list would have made an impression, I'm sure. On an island where French cuisine (as is very seldom the case) has been forced into the backseat, Two Frenchies has proven to be a five-star contributing passenger. J'aime ton coeur, à bientôt.

Delicious food, especially the platter. When eating the food you'd know that the food was prepared by chef who cooked whole heartedly. All the waiters/waitress were happy people & you'd tell that they are happy working there, like a family. One of the owners i.e. Diana, she's very friendly, courteous & good in recommending the restaurant's specialty. Will definitely dine in this restaurant again in future

The head waiter and his staff excel in this beautifully appointed restaurant, they were extremely attentive but unobtrusive. The decor and atmosphere cannot be faulted and the food is some of the best European food you can find in Penang. I have eaten a casual lunch as well as a special occasion dinner here and highly recommend both. Well done Two Frenchies for providing a little piece of France in Penang.

waitress are very nice there, Confit de Canard very tasty, enviroment is good for relax. Been there many times, friends always say miss their Pasta A La Normande and Croque Monsieur so much!Make sure that you have to do reservations on weekend, that always full house during weekend dinnertime. However I wan to keep fit, but still will come back again and again.

Firstly, this is a Bistro and not a Restaurant, so keep your expectations in check. I had the Soupe de Poisson Provencale (Fish Soup Provencale) as an entree. I didn't like it - bizzarely sweet, overpowering any savouriness from the fish broth. The Rouille was also too sweet for my liking and that didn't help. I then had the Magret de Canard (Roasted Duck Breast) in a Honey Balsamic glaze. It was accompanied by carrots and rice. The carrots, in puree form was too sweet (again). No savoury pan sauce to go with the rather dry duck. Instead it came with more Honey Balsamic sauce that made the dish far too sweet than necessary. I had to put aside the puree'd carrot and honey balsamic sauce and finish the meal with just Dijon mustard. For desert, I had the Profiteroles. It was good. A classic dessert every French kid would love. Overall, I was somewhat disappointed with my first visit to Two Frenchies. I was told by the lady who runs the place that the flavours were adjusted to suit the Asian palette and you should let them know if you'd like something 'less Asian and more French'. Peculiar approach, I think. However, I'd dine here again and will try something 'less Asian'. Service is wonderful and it didn't take long for the food the arrive. And the ambiance is very relaxed and friendly. I had a nice glass of Bordeaux as well. Though it won't be on my list for culinary excellence while in Penang, I would certainly recommend Two Frenchies for the novelty of having something different if you're tired of the local food.

First of all we were travelling to Penang with our dog and needed a dog friendly restaurant (not easy in Malaysia at all). Second my wife had not tried "Cassoulet" yet . 5 years ago we had a restaurant in the city that reached at the time the top ranking of the eating places in the island "Chez Nous" Belgian restaurantand wanted to try the try this relatively new restaurant serving authentic French food (rare also in the country). We were warmly welcome including our pet. I was a little worry as there no no sign of French presence in the restaurant and in the cuisine. I guess the owner are now only present part-time. We ordered "Cassoulet Toulousain" and "canard a l'orange with gratin dauphinois" and were very happy with our choice, the portion and the service. Very nice meal.

Went for dinner with the family and once again, few days later with friends. Had a wonderful experience both times. Food is very tasteful, my daughter is strictly vegetarian with plenty allergies - the staff and chef are extremely accommodating and made sure she enjoyed everything - appetizer to dessert!! Extremely friendly and helpful staff, special mention of Ikram - very friendly and enterprising! Thank you!

We were invited for lunch on a Sunday w/ a group of friends. It has been quite a while since our last visit to this restaurant though we actually like this place much. I started w/ an onion soup- one of my favorites here. The 2 Frenchies Sharing Platter, the Sirloin Steak as well as the ravioli ( cooked to a perfect al dente) were all nice. We enjoyed ourselves w/ the pairing of a good glass of wine too. Will definitely visit soon either for a brunch or a dinner!

페낭에서 10일 정도 머무르면서 마지막 식사로 다녀온 곳이에요. 요즘 감성에도 잘 맞고 음식도 괜찮았어요! 직원들도 친절해서 좋은 경험 했습니다~ The restaurant was clam and chill. This is our last day in Penang and we would like to have a nice lunch and ‘Two Frenchies’ were right choice! The price is reasonable and waiters and waitresses are very kind and gentle. If you want to enjoy the chill vibe, you must visit! You won’t regret ;)

This is a charming restaurant, with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food was good and it was fun. My husband's French Onion soup was so good, that we had to go back the next day so I could have my own bowl. We did not require reservations (as we eat dinner quite early) and we did not have to "dress" for dinner - in a French restaurant. How often does that happen? Take advantage while you can and we hope you have as much fun as we did at this bistro.

Two Frenchies never fails! Have been frequently dining here with big groups which has great ambience and excellent service. Waiters and waitresses are very well trained in serving guests and can often give good food recommendations. Was recommended the chef’s special – duck apricot which has a great combination of French and surprisingly Mediterranean taste with dates and olives. I would rate Two Frenchies as one of the top French dining place in Penang!

We arrived for an early lunch on Sunday and were warmly welcomed by all the restaurant staff. We ordered the rib eye steak which was first class. The vegetarian platter had a great choice of cheeses. Cannot fault the service which was attentive and efficient. By the time we left, the tables were starting to fill up and I can understand why this restaurant is a popular choice. We hope to return and would recommend the Two Frenchies.
