Visited the ‘Two Frenchies Cafe & Bistro’ with three friends for breakfast today.
A quaint french restaurant housed in a pre-war building in Penang took me back to the happy alleyway cafes in France. I can’t thank Two Frenchies enough for at least taking my...palette back to happier times which I yearn for as we live through these uncertain COVD-19 pandemic times.

French and Malaysian food are probably at two ends of the flavour spectrum, but i must commend the most definite nod to Malaysia via the Penang Rendang galletes...a subtle but delicious fusion.
A delectable start to my Sunday. Super yummy.
What more can you ask for than a happy tummy and a head full of memories of better times.
I can’t wait to get to “Two Frenchies” again to savour their extensive lunch and dinner menus.
My recommendation - head to Two Frenchies quick since none of us are holidaying in Europe anytime soon!!More

Loved this place. Staff super attentive. We booked and they took the trouble to remember our names. Food was amazing. Recommend the snails. Sauce so yummy Wine reasonably priced. Ambiance was great. Always asking if we want more bread. Forced down 3 courses because it...was all so good. Will definitely return. Loved it. ThankyouMore

Our previous visit had been a few years ago and it had not been particularly enjoyable. However so many people had started raving about it that we thought we should give it a second chance. We were not disappointed and will be going back again...soon. The duck breast was enormous but they kindly wrapped it so I could take it home.More
Back here for a second time while in Penang. Loved it as much as the first time.
We had the rib-eye steak and burger. We shared a soup. A few drinks throughout the meal.
Service was great. We were taken care off and felt pampered....Very cozy.
This is surely becoming our go-to spot whenever we are in town.More
Have visited for lunch & dinner on several occasions in recent months. Menu is diverse enough to offer variety, ingredients used are of good quality, price is extremely reasonable, service & setting both very good.
Portion sizes are good, desserts are amazing (& large!!). Beer...is served nicely cold.
Apart from lunch, have always made a reservation due to distancing criteria these days & have always been accommodated.
A great restaurant for any occasion - casual lunch, smart dinner & more.
Also offer a freezer meal pack to cook at home during lockdown etc.More
We had been in Sept for lunch. This time for dinner on 22 Dec in a gang of 8. And thoroughly enjoyed everything again.
French onion soup and fish both were good, duck confit was excellent as was the beef bourguignon and also the duck...breast. Heavenly desserts which were huge - we almost had to surrender but we toughed it out.
Only complaint was the cassoulet - the style didn't suit; not quite what we remember from Paris - this one was too dry.
And let's not forget the excellent service.
Overall - a great dining experience.More
It took us long enough to go and dine at 'the best French restaurant in Penang'. I was hesitant to splurge that much in the street food paradise that is George Town, but a month themed 'Date Night Fridays' ultimately took us to 36, Lebuh...Bishop.
'French Cooking From The Heart' - this is how she sells herself and I couldn't have chosen a better way to express the experience.
It is not 'fine dining' restaurant; their portions are too generous to be burdened with such a tag. Two Frenchies will feed you well; even your bread basket, such a rare sight in restaurants in Asia, will be refilled upon request - with a smile (the service too had heart). I imagine Hemingway would have liked this place; the wine list would have made an impression, I'm sure.
On an island where French cuisine (as is very seldom the case) has been forced into the backseat, Two Frenchies has proven to be a five-star contributing passenger.
J'aime ton coeur, à bientôt.More

The street parking is limited but just past the restaurant there is a car park, same side as the restaurant where you can park for a small fee. Cost to park depends on when and how long you park but the cost is very low. I go to Two Frenchies as often as I can, it is a fave for us and parking in the car park is always available. Enjoy the food. It is wonderful. Menu changes regularly but their signature dishes remain.
