This little Cafe is in a small back street, but thanks to Google maps I could find it. The almond orange croissant was amazing! The coffee was as it should be…dark and strong. Much better than the Starbucks nearby. I read other reviews about the...service, but really, the service was fine. I ordered take out, so it was short and sweet. I may go back another day if I have time. These are hardworking people doing their best to provide quality food.More

There's much better French restaurants in Penang. Spend your RM else where. The list below have more selection of pastries and beignets, cozy ambience and better service. 1. La Vie en Rose Patisserie, Lebuh Melayu 2. La Petit Four Patisserie, Lebuh Pantai 3. Two Frenchies...Cafe Bistro, Lebuh BishopMore

Average pastry quality at best. Extremely poor service. Not even a “Hello” or “Good morning” when I arrived. Not even a “Your Latte” when my coffee is served. And not even a “Thank you” when leaving. Read the replies from management to other 1 star...reviews and you can quite easily conclude that they don’t even care what feedback they receive from customers. Not even acknowledging that there is an issue with management but rather turning it around and blaming the customer instead. You may think that you’re the oldest French patisserie in Penang (don’t know if you are) but if you think that the current crowd in Penang is going to accept such service quality then you are sadly wrong. Let’s see how much longer you remain in business. Oh and by the way, minimum charge of RM50 before you accept credit card. What nonsense is that when BNM is trying to promote a cashless (or at least a minimal cash transaction) society. I can go to any major malls in Penang and pay for my RM1 parking with my credit card. In case you didn’t know, BNM already made it clear than having a minimum credit card charge is not allowed. Expect a call from the authorities soon. All the best!More

Really superb croissants and bakery products. Good strong coffee. Nice French style breakfast cafe. Snack breakfast or pit-stop out of the sun.

This place was close to our Air BnB, so it was convenient for breakfast. The food was good, but service was slow. We went 3 mornings out of the 6 we were there, so it does something right, but it could be better. If you...want bacon, go elsewhere. If you want the best croissants on Penang, however, this is your place.More

Nice food but the service could be better. Just need a friendly smile, cheerful greetings to the customers and a faster service. This will make la France cafe the best cafe in town.

The place is really nice, but service is terrible. Don’t go -look at most at the reviews here and the owners response. That will give you the overall vibe of this place -you don’t feel welcome and the owner is rude and arrogant.

Located behind northam all-suites hotel and vouk suites @ mansion one, this little cafe continues to delight us as we visit for hot buttered croissants, freshly baked breaded sandwiches, a surprising range of smoked salmon and yoghurt chicken sandwiches, crispy potato wedges and artisan coffee....Proprietor gets more friendly, more times you visit - don't forget to greet him with Bonjour! A tip is to visit in between busy periods for good service - 10am to 12pm seems perfect. Enjoy!!More
