Opening the menu, you travel back in time to learn how cream teas landed in Malaysia. The furniture and decor was homely and the chairs upstairs were really comfortable.
To eat, we decided to share an afternoon tea. Our favourites were the miniature pies, the warm rose scones and the accompaniment of homemade lemon iced tea.
Downstairs, we saw a party of young girls celebrating a birthday party, what a perfect venue for little ones trying to have a grown up party.
Having read some older reviews, I am surprised. Clearly they have made some changes in staffing: the manager was kind; the waitress sweet and attentive-we really enjoyed our visit.

If you are looking for a place to sit down, relax and have a craving for English tea and sandwiches, Winter Warmers is the place to be. I love Rose tea and Winter Warmer's Rose tea are one of a few western style tea houses that offers this flavor. It has the right balance of the rose scent with actual rose petals with English black tea leafs.
I loved the tea so much I bought some of the rose tea leaves from their tea collections. They definitely have a large selections of various tea that you can just buy off from their shelves.

Nice decor, staff were pleasant.
Interesting food / drinks on offer. The scones were less than average, terribly dry and crumbly, the supposed rose jam that was served with the scones and cream had no hint of rose flavour.
The iced lemon tea was served in a jug ! (a very generous serving indeed) but the glass accompanying it was ridiculous. It was a type of cocktail / martini glass.
I guess that Management thought it looked like it suited the theme happening here ! but it just didn’t work.
They appear to only have varied cheesecakes on offer but nothing else (well not on display).
Would I visit again, not at all.

Never have I seen such a rude waiter & waitress in FB Industry. She has the audacity to say that Winter Warmer is only for the high class people.
My husband & I do not communicate in English, but in our own mother tongue. That does not mean that we do not understand English (the three servers were joking among themselves loud enough to make sure that we heard them). Yes, we were poorly dressed up and our appearance were like one of the old grandma & grandpa that advanced in years of hardship.
But, this is not the way to work as a server. Owner, if you would like to have a proprose business in future do take note of your servers.
Need to say, we just walked out of your posh restaurant and never to return. How does your server react? Smirking behind the closed door.

We went last night for a meal, dinner time.
First impression was excellent, we were greet and seated by the team members politely.
We placed a few pastas dishes.
Penne carbonara with Grill chicken, spaghetti carbonara with beef bacon and Caesar salad.
My son's love it so much the Penne.
All turn up well prepared by the chef, kudos ! Portioning average just nice for us. The Caesar salad was ok, it could be better.
Ambience and the restaurant layouts was nice, very English. I must say,I feel much better than the previous venue used to be, at present more comfortable and spacious.
Service is outstanding, waiter were very attentive and pleasant.
Overall experience is great, nice if you're tea lover. I will definitely come back to try more next time.
Highly recommended.
Cheers

One of the worst experience that you could encounter at a dining outlet is terrible service. Outlet at 170-G-38, Persiaran Gurney is one good example. The operator of this restaurant should only select suitable candidates to be waiters. A bad decision would only result in bad feedback. Waiter was very rude.

We had lunch here with another local friend. The interior of the restaurant was a Victorian-themed one which to us was pretty unique. The wait staff was also very friendly and we chatted with them during our meal. I had a simple prawn salad. The prawns were fresh and had a smoky taste (in a good way). They offered an assortment of different flavour teas and I found mine rather refreshing.
Overall it was a pleasant experience. Not packed when we were there and we had some good conversations while dining.

This place is to be avoided if possible. There are so many better options around. Penang is full of excellent food and dining venues. we called to have a lot lunch and although the restaurant was not busy, we were ignored for quite a while before we got to place our orders. The waiter and older gentleman did not use a pad to write down our orders and this should’ve been the first red flag. Everything went wrong not one single thing that we ordered was delivered. Instead, we got a variety of what I’m guessing were whatever was available. I did get a drink, but my partner did not which you would think would’ve been an obvious error. I could not believe the attitude of the staff they really did not care.

For a relaxing tea experience, highly recommended. With a few locations around Penang, the one in Gurney Plaza is our favourite to date. We've tried lots of their teas and enjoyed most of them. Food and cakes also good, their scones are worth a try.

Lovely to look at but don’t bother with the food. If you want a traditional tea and scones experience this is not the place for you.
Service is slow and the food is a poor attempt at Western cuisine.

A decent Christmas, marred by food and drinks that never came. We visited Winter Warmers for tea around 4pm on Christmas Day, and ordered a couple of drinks and a sandwich.
The place was just over half full, but the staff seemed to be struggling to cope. The waitress who took our order did not write anything down, but said ok and went on her way. We waited and waited, yet nothing arrived.
Half an hour had gone by, when we saw another waitress coming in our direction with a tray of food and drinks. Thinking our order had finally come, we were disappointed to see it delivered to another table who came after us.
Disgusted by the long wait, we went to query the waitress who had initially taken our order. She responded by asking, “What did you order?”. If I had to guess, having taken our order verbally, she got distracted by other customers and totally forgot to key in our order.
We could have sat there till next Christmas and nothing would come. While we understand that holiday crowds could sometimes cause backlogs in the kitchen, it’s inexcusable that a jug of fruit tea still isn’t ready after 30 mins. We walked out and will never visit this place again.

Went for dinner (paragon branch) Not so busy but the service was poor. Food served late. My partner finished eating by the time my food was served, worst still my baked chicken was cold.
