The white corner building in the center of Little India used to house a medical company, the paraphernalia of old activity has been kept for athmosphere. I come here for lunch in their open space restaurant downstairs from the boutique hotel. The tilapia was cooked excellently with ginger, I ordered some steamed vegetables as extra.

Ordered their Steamed Fish topped with their special sauce, cilantro and a handful of ginger. Paired with a side of white rice, it was a nudge towards perfection! Love the mild Asian flavours and the ginger slices offered a balanced kick to the dish. Big portion too!

Going out on a limb here, but this may have been the best curry I’ve ever had in my life.
In fact, possibly best meal, included with the starter etc. the atmosphere/vibe = outstanding.
Bit of jazz music, candle lit, cheap prices and a chef who clearly puts his best efforts in to his food.
Portion sizes were more than enough and I scraped all the plates clean. Absolutely delicious. Woman was lovely too.

This Bistrot was part of the heeberg where we stayed. But you can also eat there as an outsider. We have eaten there several times. White rice with steamed fish, fish abd chips, spring rolls, satay. All equally delicious. They have incredibly delicious smoothies with yogurt, fruit and ice cream. Also very tasty and almost a meal. The bistrot is located in an old warehouse for Chinese medicines and herbs. You can still see remnants of that. There is also a small museum about this.

Absolutely loved this place; service was so friendly and the Nyonya chicken curry was so tasty and tender that it just fell off the bone. I also had the watermelon and lychee slushy cooler to drink and it was honestly exceptional. I could have that all day every day! I'm only in George Town for two days otherwise I'd definitely be coming back here to try some other dishes. Worth every ringgit and much more!

This a lovely cafe right inside George Town's historic downtown. At a revitalized Chinese medicine shophouse, Bistro Tang serves authentic Malaysian cuisine at a more refined setting. Food is memorable. Beef satay, which is freshly grilled, is sweet and succulent. Laksa is rich and spicy. Lamb curry is tender and aromatic. Chicken chop is crispy outside and juicy inside. Service is warm and price simply dirt cheap. Do give a try when exploring Penang. The restored house deserves a visit after meal.

I read the reviews before going here and they were spot on. The bistro is amazing with a simple interior. The staff is attentive and the food to die for.
Knowing the portion size in Malaysia, I chose just the Lamb Curry. However, I have to come back for the spring rolls and satay since people around me couldn’t stop saying nice things about these snacks.
The lamb curry has a wonderful spicy taste, the potatoes and meat very tender and of good quality.

The big tree across the street had just been felled but otherwise the elegant restaurant space adjacent to the hotel looked same as three years ago. The fish dish had stayed in my memory and was simple and tasty as before. I enjoyed the old time atmosphere cooled only by fans.

Great ambiance, great food in large portions. We had the smoked duck salad and the Lamb Curry. Amazing! Our daughter had the veggie frites. She loves them, and the first time in a few weeks we got some vegetables in her! Perfect!

We stopped by chance on this cool hipster café. Loved it, the retro furniture, great café and amazing brownie. Very nice welcome and service too. Nice break from walking in the heat.

Found the place by coincidence and were pleasantly surprised. Loved the food. The quality is high. Everything is fresh and the flavors are amazing. So good that we came back. Service and ambiance are also wonderful. Staff is very friendly and even recognized us when we came back. Try the sago pearls for dessert. Plus it is very affordable.

A pleasant place for a light meal in Little India. Plus, the building has cool history as an old Chinese medicine shop. I had a nice mushroom soup. Lots of healthy options.

Top quality food, service, and vibe. Must try: Tang Laksa, Nyonya Curry Chicken, as well as the Chicken Satay, We ate here several times during our week-long stay at Ren i Tang.
