The food was reasonable, the service slow and the toilet was absolutely disgusting even by local standards. Given the abundance of excellent venues locally we probably won't return.

I first tripped over the lovely Junk almost exactly a year ago, fell in love with the general welcoming vibe, tunes, food, cocktails...plus made a firm friend in top man, Prakash. So I knew it would be first on my list when I finally broke...out of KL CMCO this Christmas. COVID has had an unfortunate effect on most of us, not least Junk, which has had to move (just a little bit!) round the corner, so if 401 Chulia Street is still showing as it is as I type this, do make sure you venture just a tiny bit further to 1, Jalan Pintal Tali. It's well worth it, I promise. For food - burgers are it. I don't eat meat (so the Grilled Vegetable or The Great White both more than float my boat) but if you do, you're in burger heaven! And cocktails? Well.. I fondly remember the Bloody Mary sorting me right out just before the Langkawi ferry last year, but tonight I started with a classic Moscow Mule and then superstar bar guru, Prakash suggested I go off piste with his own creation - the Ginger Mojito. And proper lush it was too! To be clear, it's not on the menu, but I'm sure if you ask him nicely, and say hi from me, he'll do you one! Can't rate Junk highly enough!More

Great spot for cocktails and good vibes! Excellent music guaranteed!!! Amazing staff (shout out to Prakash!) and a great overall aesthetic.

I really enjoyed the cocktails I bought from Junk earlier this evening. The barman happily filled mine and my wife’s reusable cups. The bar was full of retro and antique collectibles and appeared to be well worth closer inspection.

Place, food and staff are absolutely adorable and authentic. The hamburgers are super tasty and juicy and the fries just perfect (I go nuts for sweet potatoes!!!). The price was also very good. If I lived in Georgetown, I think I would eat there everyday.

Was strolling past this place and heard the great tunes coming out of it - soul, reggae and funk. The owner is a really friendly guy with a great taste in music. Decided to have a meal and the food was great too! All reasonably...priced and a really good vibe. We'll be back!!!More

Bar offers a good spot for people watching if you grab a table outside. The bar has a good atmosphere and a range of music as well as the normal drinks offer of beer and cocktails. Popular with backpackers as is much of Lebuh Chulia.

I stumbled across Junk Cafe on my first day and it set the tone for what was a idyllic holiday in Penang. While I was there I had a burger and some cocktails, both were delicious. Prakash the bartender is one of the nicest guys...you will ever meet. Full of great tips and advice. Nothing is too much trouble. The decor is very quirky, I went to Junk cafe several times during my stay in Penang and each time my eyes were drawn to something new. Wonderful place to chill with a cocktail and listen to some good music. I can't wait to return.More
