Yins has the best sourdough bread. It part of the slow cook movement. Bake with natural and locally sourced ingredients as much as possible. Wonderfully cooked eggs, tasty breads, great coffee in relaced surroundings. We'll be back for more.

Never been here before but it was brilliant Never spoken to staff so don't know Not tried the food so I still have no clue Yours sincerely, Mr Mcbubbles
Came here for brunch, plenty of staff working yet service was very poor. For such food charges yet have to self service on utensil. Other table closer to the counter was served food with utensil were given by the waiter yet food came to oyr...table without utensil, called the waiter yet was hiding behind counter until have to walk up and pick the utensil. Not sure all the staff hide behind counter for what reason as its not a big cafe...poorly manage employee yet set beside Asscot hotel. All the staff came out in groups to clear up table yet cant attend to customer needs when requird. Food was standard like any other cafe.More
Ordered the eggs Benedict which was quite a generous serving. However the poached eggs were very cold, as if straight out of a refrigerator. When I tried to ask if their eggs were always like that, none of the staff could answer. No supervisor present...at 10 am. Also, the Hollandaise sauce was quite lacking in tasteMore
Pros:Reasonable prices & big portions Fast service Freshly baked goods Strong coffee & variety of kambucha Lots of choices on display Top choice for weekend breakfast Lovely view of gurney ancient pine trees Sea breeze although seating is air con / outdoors Cozy ambience w...unique chairs Friendly smiley staffs Love their tarts and pies ! Support local cuz def better than Starbucks 😛 cons : Wish there’s more seatings for big groupsMore
Really good coffee and especially love the fresh smoothies. The food is delicious and fresh. HOWEVER, we came here twice and we waited 40 and 55+ minutes for the food to come after ordering. It was busy but didn’t appear overwhelmed, we walked right in...and there were still tables free. We are all about being relaxed but its a bit much. Thankfully we had nowhere to be! Id recommend only if you have time to kill. Also if you’re patient and have things to do - we used the Wi-Fi to research places to visit, but still not great.More
A decent place for decent sourdoughs and more. Prompt staff and leisurely ambience. The beef burger was quite delicious with homemade sauces.
📍Yin's Sourdough Bakery and Café @ Pesara Claimant, George Town (Ingredients sourced from Halal suppliers) Yin's Sourdough has been making headway in this niche market of sourdough baking, even so in the midst of this pandemic. Having already 4 branches (3 in Penang, and 1...in KL), they started 8 years ago, a small abode at Balik Pulau. Using strictly unbleached flour & no preservatives, Yin's mastery over sourdough baking has expanded through much creativity. Not only is sourdough used for her baked goods; it is also the essence of all her homemade pastas, pizzas and burger buns. 🏨We decided to try Yin's very own main branch, the bakery in Georgetown where all the magic happens. Much to our delight, Yin herself was there manning the bakery. The cuisine served there was excellent. 🍕Let me start with the pizzas. We ordered a mushroom pizza with rocket-leaves, and another version which was ?Hawaiian. It was PERFECT. The sourdough base was thin and crisp, the rocket leaves complemented the mushrooms incredibily, and the taste was mouthwateringly amazing. According to the reviews, some guests claim that this is where you can get the best pizzas in town. Clearly, if you are looking for the conventional style of pizza, this isn't the place to go. I feel as if the pizzas here are authentically and uniquely their style. It's a must-try. 🍝The lunch-set menu is delicious and affordable. It comes with the choice of a home-made pro-biotic drink (it was a gingery tonic which was lovely), or having coffee from their very own roastery. I had the Beef Bolognese and it was delectable and pure luxury. Generous chunks of home-ground beef with their very own sourdough pasta; it was rich and filling. My colleagues tried the Chicken Luncheon sandwich; it's really cool to know that their luncheon chicken meat is home-made, thus giving it a most rich and flavoursome taste. 🍔Just check out their Homemade Ground-Beef Sourdough Burger in the pictures. Everything in the menu has been well thought of, and crafted with pride. ☕We had the opportunity to chat with Jonathan, the head barista and roaster of their coffee-beans. Separately running the coffee show under a different name (Bayan Coffee Roasters), Jonathan has come up with favourites by locals who often come by just to purchase their roasted beans. As you enter Yin's Sourdough, you will notice that just next door, their roastery is going on full pursuit, roasting their coffee beans to perfection. Many blends come from them, such as their signature Pinang blend. Bayan Coffee Roasters offers training as well for upcoming baristas. I've been to Yin's Sourdough thrice already and am loving the experience.More
In Penang for nearly 6 months, Yin's is my morning treat; incredible breads, bagels and baked goods, fresh juices and coffee roasted on premises. A small but delicious menu of breakfasts & lunch specialties including Penang's best pizza! A friendly staff and the feel of...a family run bakery & restaurant. Highly recommendMore
I was attracted to the aromatic smell of breadS when I first stepped in the cafe. Reminds me of in Europe. We tried the mix breakfast set and quiche. All were delicious and up to our taste buds. Beautiful brew coffee too... Nice ambience! Will...be our regular place in futureMore
Called in for a snack and a drink whilst wandering - a really lovely menu with really nice food. Nice place.
It is one of the rarely restaurant in Penang to prepare the food from scrap material. It promote healthy food without sacrifice favours. We ordered the vegetarian pizza and really served with plenty of mushroom and of course the best is the sour dough.
Went here as recommended by the TripAdvisor community and it was near our hotel. The food definitely did not disappoint - tasty homemade goodness 😋 Pricewise, it may not be the lowest in town, but you pay for the quality! Try it to believe it.
A Place to visit for Breakfast... Do not miss it, plenty to offer at a very reasonable price and taste is very good... Yin is such a lovely adorable lady with the kind Father In Law helping out to run the business besides a young...charming and thin lady which I think must be the Manager perhaps. All of them carries a 5 Star badge of Service, as per se. Many Foreigners there for brekkie be it from Australia, UK, Germany, Russia or even Japan just to name a few... Please do Visit them when you are in Penang or at least once in your lifetime.. HahaMore
Vegans can choose between almond butter/peanut butter + banana sandwich or vegetable sandwich. Bread was fresh from the bakery and almond butter had a homemade feel. They also have fresh juice.
