Offering excellent view of the island. Food is reasonably food. A very good place to dine, chill with friends or just solo.

Drinks were average and nothing too out of the ordinary. But Povan and Ameer were the two people that provided great warm service. They made our visit that much more better with their warmth and hospitality.

We booked in advance and paid a RM 500 minimum spend for a table for NYE. We thought that for this price, we would receive a premium product. We were wrong. Upon entry you are forced to immediately select all drinks for the whole night...and pay everything upfront. I got the impression that they assumed that I would run away without paying. If you’re really that worried just take my credit card details. Paying everything upfront is cheap and unprofessional. All drinks for the whole night came at once- three bottles of wine, which soon got warm. Hilariously these were held in a plastic Carlsberg bucket, like beers. I don’t think they really know how to serve wine. There was no staggering of drinks. It felt like they just wanted to get everything out of the way immediately. One table kept dropping or tipping over drinks because there were too many to fit on the table at once. There was very little drinks selection. No cocktails. We asked for a few soft drinks too and they initially said no to this. They said they could do, for example, a rum and coke, but not just coke. I was gobsmacked. Eventually they relented, and took about half an hour for then to deliver a coke which should be an easy task for a bar. The music was far too loud; the acoustics and sound quality were low. There was little chance for conversation between guests and the mic feedback at times gave me a headache. One of the (far too) many “security” guards kept standing behind me, over my shoulder, for many hours. He didn’t speak any English so ignored my request for him to move. It took a few requests to senior staff for him to actually move away. I’m not sure what their role was. They didn’t take drinks orders or deliver drinks. Overall, it was clear that this was simply a money-making exercise for them to extract all money immediately from guests upon arrival, then not have to worry about drinks quality or customer service. Please don’t book to come event here- spend your hard earned money elsewhere. A very poor job from Gravity Bar.More

I visited Gravity, the Rooftop bar at G Kelawai Hotel, Penang, on 28th Dec 2019. I was very disappointed in the cocktail drinks quality. So watered down, the Mango Daquiri I ordered was tasteless, no mango taste, just ice n some bitters,it had a good...colour but that was all. The staff were polite and obliging. I requested for my drink to be redone, the bartender was very obliging but unfortunately he thinks a daquiri is only an iceblend cocktail. I had to ask for sugar syrup, to add in so that it was drinkable. A Frozen daquiri is an iceblend cocktail, but a regular daquiri is not. The menu did not say frozen daquiri. The bartender should go and learn the proper cocktail recipes. The ambience and view were spectacular but sadly the music was not. The singers, kept apologising for singing out of tune. Sadly, i will not ever return there and will not recommend anyone to spend money there on drinks there.More

The bar is on the 24th floor with seating arranged in either sofas or stools. The views are lovely. The bar is completely open air. The music played could be better, it’s mainly clubby music.

The food menu is a bar menu with snacks and small plates, generally western style food. Not sure if I would recommend having a dinner there though.
