Out of this world Indian sweets (candy): Yellow Laddu, Ghee Mysorepak, Milo Burfi, Halwa, Kaju Apple, Cashew Nut Halwa, Dates Laddu plus more on a subsequent visit.
Other north and south Indian snacks also available which makes this place mainly patronized by couples, groups of ladies (Indian) who lunch, and yours truly with an incorrigible Indian sweet tooth.
Prices are low by comparison with the red dot to the south. Get yourself a cheap flight and indulge...
None of the waitstaff would win any personality awards but you are not here to make friends.

We are here twice during our stay in Georgetown. It’s very popular with locals (tourists probably less than 5% of customers) so it can be hard to grab a table. You may find you’re squeezed on with other diners whether you like it or not. The head waiter was quite a character, barking out orders to colleagues and customers. Food was cheap and tasty. There seemed to be some sort of buffet style menu as well as the ‘a la carte’ but we never worked out how to get that! There’s no beer on the menu but they do serve it disguised in napkins. It was around £5 for a large warm bottle of Tiger so we stuck to water on our return visit. I’m from West Yorkshire so know a good Indian and this was up there with the best I’ve had abroad.

Went here for lunch during our day tour, we sat in the air condition room as it was an extremely hot day. The food was really nice and tasty. I had chicken korma which was the least spicy, but was still spicy but very nice and my partner had a green spinach curry which he said was lovely and he is a curry person, banana leaf with different accompaniments, rice , nann bread, poppadoms, fresh pineapple juice

Had lunch cost around Rm70.00 for 3 person no issues but feel unsatisfied when i asked about the Prime drink, he asked me back "Do you know the price of the drink you are asking and what is that " really shocked me. Bought 4 Prime at the price of Rm17.90 per bottle other place and SAB are selling for Rm40 per bottle. (Your staff mentioned this price and maybe he thinks that we cant afford to buy ) Hope your staff can be more polite when answering .

The place is very big it could serve for big groups. Their customer service is very fast but it's also very expensive. However,their food is really nice. The one I ordered was veg banana leaf rice and added chicken varuval, the drinks were mango lassi . It came up to almost Rm30+-.

My two friends and I came in at 1.45pm, July 4th 2020. We ordered 1 young coconut, 1 buttermilk with no ice, 1 bru coffee, 1 fish biriyani and 1 mutton biriyani. After 15min the waiter came back and informed that there is no more young coconut. I then ordered buttermilk, which only was 3/4 full. After waiting for 30 minutes we received a cold mutton briyani. As we had decided to cancel order, the fish briyani then came 5 min later. Totally unacceptable service as serving cold food to customers after a 30 minute wait is really bad. Kindly upgrade your service

I visited the anandha bhawan restaurant in little india ( since I am from kl) on 23/12/20 at 7 pm for dinner with my family in penang. I was astonished to see the condition of the restaurant. No SOP was followed and 90% of the staff were wearing mask inaccurately which means they wore their mask on the chin not covering their mouth neither their nostrils. And one of the waiter who was taking my order, was not even wearing a mask on his chin. He had no mask at all. I asked him to wear his mask and come back to take my order. He bluntly totally refuse to and refuse to budge. I refused to let him take my order. Through out my duration at the restaurant that particular waiter never used his mask. Can the owner of Anandha bhawan restaurant monitor their restaurant and their staff and do the right service to your patrons.

Poor taste, not value for money. Bad service. Pricey. Order 5 drinks get six . Not friendly
Choice for vegetarian banana leaf was basically and bland. Have to request many times for additional stuff

Ordered for poori and what was given was oil dripping poori . It was in bright yellow colour . The oil was really old .guess the oil should have been 3 days old . Pls be careful while ordering poori . The waiter denied to cancel the poori.

Had lunch with my family, we asked for extra rice and the waiter asked us to finish the meal before refill.
This is not a polite way to deal with customers, unless we are eating for free.

Not sure how you can be inconsistent like this. I've had really good tandoori chicken here, fresh, juicy and tasty and then had almost dry, bland chicken too. I tend to avoid it now :(

This was our second visit and it has not changed, chaotic in a good way with friendly service, great food served on metal platters, good for both veg and non veg dining,
Dal, chicken curry, Prawns, tikka masala all very good. Order the masala tea it’s rich and has a nice kick of ginger,
The place was super busy as usual so don’t be surprised if you have to wait for a table,
