Poor staff Me and my partner were in the restaurant and only my partner ordered food. After he had his food, we were asking for a water and the staff gave us a bottle of water. Btw we saw they served tap water for other...customers and we asked for it. Staff rejected it and said they do not have a tap water.More

A small restaurant serving excellent Malaysian dishes. Step into a cool restaurant on a steamy night. We had delightful juice concoctions to quench our thirst. Dishes were served with lots of spicy accompaniments. Good quality chicken. No alcohol. Recommended for a lovely evening out.

Lagenda is an Asian Kitchen Favourite. Once you entered the premises, your ear will fulfil with Melayu's song familiar in Melayu or Malaysia. Since I am an Indonesia, mostly I do not know them, unless the song ever sang by Sheila Madjid my favourite Malaysian...singer. During the lunch we are quite hungry and we love several food that we ordered = For a starter, I choose Fried and Fritters, a vegetable fritters with a colourfull crackers served with a yummy peanut sauce. Deep Fried Mozarella, is a crispy fried cheese sandwich covered with bread crumbs and served with fries and salads. We do love the sandwich especially it covered with mozarella that melted once we ate it, so delicious. Next that we love is Sotong ala Panggilan Pulau. It is sotong spices served with Nasi Kuning and salad, a great ones. Similar good taste is Lamb Curry. Since the day is so bright and hot due to the sun is happy shining PENANG, I choose for a glass of Ice Bandung, a nata de coco with ice and their local famous syrup. This drink will quench your thirst. And for dessert, we choose Banana Bakar is match our day.More

This is a cozy place to enjoy authentic Malaysian cuisine. Cafe Lagenda offers a hip and spacious setting (with air-conditioning) and a hybrid menu. Taste is loyally local but can be spicy for tourists. Beef rendang, with a rich and sweet paste, is some of...the best in town. Pandan panna cotta is the perfect dessert to wrap up the meal. Service is impeccable and price very modest.More

It is always satisfying when one stumbles across a restaurant which delights and Cafe Lagenda fits the bill. Having had one plate too many of the local “char kuay teow”, it was time for a change! This restaurant honours the famous actor/singer of yesteryear, P...Ramlee and has mementoes of his hey days on their wall as well as a large mural of him in the courtyard. Even some of the dishes are named as a nod to him such as their signature fried rice, Nasi Goreng Bujang Lapok which we ordered and enjoyed. Additionally we had their satay which seemed to be cooked the Indonesian way where the skewered chicken was a lot firmer and not as moist as the traditional Malay satay but the peanut sauce was great. The Ayam Percik doused in peanut sauce which was served with turmeric rice, bean sprout kerabu sambal and crackers was also good. The hot drinks of ginger tea and lemongrass tea, both of which were served in pots, and fresh ginger and lemongrass steeped in the hot water enhanced the flavour. The ambience was great and the service was attentive and respectful so thank you to the team who provided an evening to remember.More

Do yourself a favour and visit this amazing eatery. Service is great. Food is amazing! I had a salmon dish with various accompaniments and it was so satisfying. Partner had a massaman curry dish. Flavours were fabulous. The entree of satay chicken was the softest...I've ever eaten. Peanut sauce was divine. All other plates around us looked equally good.More

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by two different people. We decided to try it for a late lunch and we are so glad we did. Gorgeous food in a lovely clean cafe. We had beef Rendang & chicken Rendang which came with...little bowls of various things like chillies, egg, tomatoes etc. The rice was beautifully presented in a leaf shaped into a cone. Nice variety of fruit cocktails and soft drinks, but of course no alcohol. Service was great. We would definitely recommend you try this place when in Georgetown. Hope this is helpful.More
