Guys, let's skip the bullpoop. KK is not the most developed town. Im here to tell you this is by far the best restaurant in town currently. These guys are taking a risk by opening here. Sabah is the poorest state in Malaysia. They can...easily survive in KL with this quality of food. Yet they choose to do business in KK, use local ingredients and give local Sabahans a taste elevated cuisine. As of writing, this is the 145th Best Restaurant according to Tripadvisor. This is total BS. #1 clearly. You will get your money's worth. Locals, it is your duty to support this restaurant.More

This is definitely a first for Sabah in terms of a fine dining experience. The fact that they focus on local ingredients is daring and much needed. Too many a time would a fine dining restaurant end up importing its whole produce from Europe/Australia, neglecting...the wonders of local products. The restaurant ambience is classy. The open kitchen concept means that there is no where to hide. Service is good in general but the dinner did feel a bit rushed at times and there's room for improvement there. Food is well presented and decorative. We did not get to taste their regular menu, but for the food we had, it was imaginative and original. Seasoning and flavours could be more balanced and enhanced but overall it was a delicious meal. We will return one day to sample their normal menu. We hope this is the beginning of a truely Sabahan fine dining experience as this restaurant continues to explore the culinary offerings of the land and innovate their fine dining interpretation of local food.More

When I think about fine dining, I never dreamed it would be in a non-hotel based restaurant! Upon entering oitom, which means black in sabahan native language... it feels like I’m entering the dark side and that made me a little more cautious but the...lightings were superbly placed that it focuses on the cooking arena and the food that is served at your table. I absolutely loved it that they used local ingredients to produce fantastic dishes that brings out every essence of its flavours plus by sourcing locally it is helping the local farmers/suppliers. Two thumbs up for that! The best part about my experience at oitom was I get to learn about every dish that is served and the chefs Juan & Raphael (owner) were such a delight and insightful when answering even the simplest questions. If I had to choose one out of my 9 course meal, my favourite for the night would have to be the chocolate tart but I absolutely loved their take on the cracker with cheese dip! Looking forward to their next menu.. thanks for a lovely start to my 2020 and a great celebration of my birthday month! Also for being flexible in my diet requirements too. Note that it is a set menu and requires table reservation which can be made via their website and you’ll need to put a deposit to secure your reservation.More

My husband, family and I had dinner at Oitom last week, a casual fine dining restaurant that promotes and supports the Sabah local produces together with the mixture of imported ingredients. I can see that both chefs Raphael and Juan are very passionate about cooking...when they are explaining to us about the origin and the creation of their dishes. They serve a 9 course meal menu and this place is perfect for groups or a casual date night. Reservation through Facebook or website is needed. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience with Oitom.More

Delicious food, and very nice atmosphere. Elevates the level of fine dining in Sabah. It's a must try for those who want to experience something new. They highlight and support local produce and harvest from Borneo.
