We were staying in KK and arrived in the evening.
I popped out to a local laundry and passed this place on the way, which looked good for dinner.
The menu is western - pizza, burgers etc, but also a Hungarian menu, which I went for and the food was fantastic!
My family had chicken kebabs and chicken fajitas which were both excellent and reasonably priced.
They also served alcohol if you fancied a drink after a long day exploring KK or beyond.
Well worth a visit!

A great find - authentic Hungarian cuisine operated by a Hungarian. Although I ordered a pasta, the owner subsequently shared her views about her favourite Hungarian dishes, so a tip is to ask her before you order - unless you are already initiated into this cuisine.
Loved the food and atmosphere.

A hidden gem!!! This place is a definite must to visit when in koto Kinabalu!
The staff are warm and friendly, the food is outstanding with a vast selection of local and Hungarian dishes.
Make sure you leave room for dessert as the baked cheesecake is fabulous!!!!

It’s on the main road but the road noise is not obtrusive and it’s cool inside!
We ended up eating here twice and coffee ( the best in town) on a daily basis. The staff remember you ; nice to come here and be greeted by such a cheerful bunch
Oh yes, the food; Western range with especially good burgers both beef and veggie. My chicken fajitas were less successful but ordering a Mexico dish in a Hungarian restaurant in Borneo was always a big ask.

We visited for lunch earlier today. We read many positive reviews so we were pleased to try this restaurant for ourselves.
The food was very tasty, my husband & I had beef goulash & our son had the beef bolognese.
We had to wait a little longer for ours sons dish to be served.There were two other tables in the restaurant.
The waitress did not smile once, we were over friendly as it was Christmas Day & wanted the experience to be special as we were on a family holiday.
Overall great food just a shame the waitress was so gloomy!!

We had a wonderful dinner here in KK. If you are a bit tired of rice and noodles, then this is a good option. The veggie plate was great and the chicken cordon blue cooked to perfection.
So good, we returned a second time.

Located close to everything we dropped into Chilli Vanilla purely based on the good reviews on Trip Advisor.
The food was fresh - we had the veggie plate and bruccetta - and service was fast.
Prices were on the higher side, but we were happy to pay to get some fresh fruit and veggies. 🥰
$60RM for 2 drinks and 2 plates.

What a fantastic find in KK. Casual and friendly and the meals were divine. Mixed salad was fresh and tasty. The pappardelle was divine. Tasty Italian flavours, husbands dish of salmon with a creamy sauce was perfect. Great depth of flavour. House red wine was a welcome surprise. My guess a cab Sav. Definitely a 11 out of 10 experience

A gem in Asia..thanks and thanks and thanks... Incredible cooking with love and passion... Made us feeling back in Europe after being 1.5 years in Asia. Please visit when you are in KK. Try the Goulash, Lamb Burger, Bolognese and and and. Normally we never visit 2 nights in a row the same restaurant, but here we did. Thanks to all the team ..

We stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a different one and we're pleasantly surprised. Charming atmosphere (with good air conditioning) and a diverse menu of Asian, Middle Eastern and Hungarian influences. There is a great starter platter of hummus, bobeganous and vegetables. The lamb burger is excellent. The service is prompt and courteous. There were quite a few other parties dining, but no wait. I would go back again.

After having been away from home for nearly 2 weeks we wanted something different to what we'd been having and this little gem didn't disappoint. Pizza, European , middle Eastern and local cuisines all merged here. And surprisingly well I has a crepe filled with mince covered in a creamy paprika sauce. So good!! Another of our group had Fajita's (did I mention the Mexican?) being a notoriously picky eater she raved about her meal. A definite must visit..

Lovely restaurant with a good selection of food, I’m vegetarian and struggled for places to eat whilst in Sabah but Chilli Vanilla had a good veggie range. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Our waiter (Scandy, I think, apologies if I’ve got his name completely wrong!) was lovely and chatty, 10/10 would definitely return.

Chili vanilla is like always good standard , lovely service and very tastefull food. Lovely small resturant talking care of you. One of the best frosen margarita in town. You will never be disapointed . Looking forward to be back again.

Few doors away from El Centro, having read the reviews decided to give it a go. Item we wanted had run out so we both opted for the lamb chili instead. Meal was very good and filling, unable to scoff a dessert this time. The owner welcomed us while there which was a nice touch. All in all, a nice meal and recommended

We found this lovely little place close to our hotel. The food was delicious and we ate there a few times. The price is excellent and the staff very friendly. If you get chance give this place a go you won’t regret it
