I guess the level of care for their customers and the reputations of this establishment should be the real question. Your restaurant is only as good as it last meal . Sweet is not tasty, fresh means the skin of the prawns shouldn’t be needed...to be pried off, the soup was nice .. How does this establishment respond to a group of foodies who understands the industry and can’t be fooled by name that doesn’t actually welcome … Just one persons educated opinion …More

I used to love the food here but it was not the standard I expected this time. It was not great and the steamed fish we ordered did not smell fresh. And the prices have really gone up. It caters more to the hordes of...tourists now, and has also expanded to a whole block now.More

We came across a blog saying this is a relatively cheap and value for money seafood place. We are not disappointed, when we arrived we were not touted but were nicely asked if we like to have a sit. There are lots of locals too,...hence we straight away knew that this is a local favourite.More

We ate here tonight and are very glad we did. Lobster steamed with garlic and fried noodles were both excellent - thoroughly enjoyed it. For me this has to be the top go to spot in KK - gotta eat here Rob

There was a huge variety of live seafood available, and the prices were generally reasonable, except for the Australian lobster. The steamed fish (dragon spot grouper) was on point. The white clams in signature sauce and home-made tofu were pretty good too. But the crabs...were puny - the largest available was only 500g. And the restaurant should seriously do something about the flies in the indoor seating area, which were annoying and unhygienic. We very much appreciated the free corkage though.More

Welcome is the most popular seafood restaurant in Kota Kinabalu and even Sabah. It is a huge place that occupies almost an entire row in downtown. The encompassing collection of fish tanks with all kinds of fresh seafood is an impressive sight. Food is solid...and full of umami. Squid asam curry is mildly sour and spicy. Geoduck with ginger and shallots is tasty. Fish is some of the best in town. Service is fast and price very modest.More

Seaching for a good dinner for seafood, everyone suggested Welcome seafood, when arrived to the place, the staff keeping hurrying ask you to take order and don't tell you the price, you have to ask them What's the price for, is it per Kilo or...grams. when you ask for the price they like not happy to tell you the price what. Outcome, the fish was steamover. The Tiger Prwan also overcooked, and the sauce was too sweet. Will not suggest for others to visit. Beware and make sure you watch them to weigh the seafood.More

The restaurant is big, but yet we still need to queue during dinner time. The seafood was fresh and they served quickly. The crab we ordered didn’t have too much meat in it, but the fish and the prawn were fresh and tasty. The restaurant...was ok clean but there were flies flying around our table. The price of the food was decent and yeah.. decent restaurant for seafood lover!More

Tried this restaurant in November. Despite the slashing dashing extraordinary expensive seafood price, the cook was disappointing. Freshness: 8.5/10 Taste quality: 2/10 Servife: 4/10 Price versus value received: 4/10 Overall value: 4/10 There are many other options of seafood restaurant, I suggest if you are...to look for good seafood restaurants, read the reviews carefully.More

Food was fresh, sedap and value for money. Recommended by a local in our training class. Service was expected with the crowd. Otherwise everything was good.

Seems this famous seafood place behind the Hilton has its ups and downs. When we ate there, the food and service were both very good. We enjoyed excellent squid, nice fish, and tasty prawns. I'd definitely go back!

The staff is so rude!! Like they owned the restaurants. Will never support them anymore. Previously during pandemic we always go there to eat and the staff were very nice to us. But since they got lots of tourist coming they don't care about local...customer. Bad Service!! My husband got his order earlier but mine has not come yet. We tried to call the service and I did saw the female staff does saw us but instead of going to us she just ignore and pura2 nda nampak! Stupid staff!More

Our first time in KK and we went to Welcome Seafood (Asia City) on the first night for dinner since reviews seemed so good. we were so disappointed as the food quality was really poor. Firstly there was just so many flies and we could...hardly focus on eating since we were too busy shooing the flies. we bought black pepper crab, garlic lobster, assam curry squid, fried rice and sambal kang kong. i wish i had taken a photo of the crab, it was smaller than my palm. we wanted a good sized one but when it came it was tiny! the lobster was huge but it had a weird plastic taste in the sauce. the worst part was my bf had food poisoning right after that and it spoilt the. night for us. our advice is if you still want to try, we would say skip it as surely there are better restaurants and more friendly staff.More

Super fresh seafood. Naturally sweet and large. But the dishes weren't yummy. Just very fresh. Very cheap seafood too.

Very affordable ! Can't remember exactly how much but we had huge prawns and crab plus 2 beers and it cost us only about £15. Compared to the 'market' down the road which was a complete rip off - avoid the seafood market... More

The hotel is open 24/7 365 days. But during peak period like public holidays and weekends, the hotel rates will be higher. This is usually standard practice.

I was there at quarter to 6pm, and the place already had a short queue. I think 5pm best to give them a buzz
