We visited the place for breakfast and tried different items (the curry noodles, beef noodles and the chicken claypot rice). All of them were delicious, and cooked to order. Prices were reasonable too (e.g. 8.50RM for a bowl of noodles). We will definitely revisit if...More

Laksa was so bland. The soup lacked in flavor. The place is so touristy. No locals eating there . Yes, it’s cheap, but everything’s cheap in Kota Kinabalu. One piece of advise: NEVER TRUST ONLINE REVIEWS. Go to where locals go. Been around Malaysia &...More

You may know that Yee Fung is famous for its lasa. While locals in KK come for the clay pot of chicken. When you do not know what to eat, follow the locals. That's why I chosen clay pot of chicken rice.

Pros: 1. Absolutely delicious. Right amount of spices without the heat, balance of sweet, tangy & salty taste. Flavoursome. 2. Plenty of seating with fans. 3. Friendly and patient waitresses. 4. Prices RM8.50/bowl of laksa. Cons: 1. Warm air circulating. No aircon. 2. Noise from...More

This place has a great vibe. It is always packed, but they are efficient at seating especially if you are willing to share your table. The food is very good. We have been here 3 times this week.

Get here early as once the dishes run out they’re out. We didn’t get a chance to try the clay pot chicken and one of the veggie dishes as they were out by 10 am. That said everything we had was delicious and homely. Super...More

Pretty bland gravy. Can’t compare to nonya and Assam laksa. Tried the kon lau noodles, too sweet. The umbra juice is very good though.

I had to do a lot of research on where to get the best local laksa in KK. The name of this restaurant came up and heck, why not. I'm a solo traveler that loves to eat so I had some expectations. I went there...More

Serve no pork. A few headscarfed customers seen with most of the waitress are Muslim. Call them for confirmation.

There is no official Halal logo displayed around Yee Fung but there are a number of Muslims employed either handling food or getting orders.
